Great your guide. Lovely day. Tour says we will go the the Rum Distillery, we didn't, that hasnt happened for some time. We did go for a drive by the sugar mill. Saw trucks unloading in a precarious manner. 2 different markets where we could buy souvenirs at realistic prices. The village tour was good, again good prices on beadwork etc. Good history lesson and Deo was happy to explain the history of Fiji.
Good comfortable van, good aircon and a safe driver.

Deo was our guide for the day, and he arrived at the specified time. Our visit to the first landing village Viseisei at Vuda Point was the highlight of the day. Our guide at Viseisei village is Caleb who lives in the village. He told us the story of the first landing and where his ancestors came from Egypt. Deo took us to a village market where all kinds of local vegetables are sold. We tried the Kava drink. We stopped at the Vuda Point marina and then drove to the Lautoka sugar mills, Fiji's major industry. We then drove into Lautoka city where we visited the main market and then had a local lunch of cassava. Lautoka is also known as the Sugar City and is a busy place. The locals play Rugby sevens and the Fijian Drua Rugby Union team had just beaten the NZ Crusaders in Super Rugby the previous week. Deo took us to the beach before sending us back to the hotel.
Our guide Deo is an excellent driver and knowledgeable guide. He knows the local history and culture well. We would recommend Deo to any visitor who wants to know more about Fiji. We had a great day.

I thought beside visiting the first Landing village, I will be able to see sugar factory or sugar caine areas. First stop at the local market place and then the taxi took me to the First Landing village (more like commercial commodities sale) where spending timeooming at various articles to buy, a nice lady showed me around the church and the Chief's place and talked about the history. After that basically a moving car tour. The car was smelling of patrol. I requested to stop at the fish market area. I will not really recommend this tour. One can just hire a car and more freely, stop and move around.
