The experience begins with a tour of the nearby La Boquería market.
With a rainbow of top-quality produce and diverse blend of aromas, it’s hardly surprising that it is saturated by tourists, making it all the more useful to have a local guide you through the hustle and bustle. The guide will explain to you about traditional foods and the most popular Catalans products as well.
After that we come back to our gastronomic space in order to go ahead to make the cooking workshop.
All carefully prepared to perfection, the sampling menu consists of a spectacular array of ten “Tapas”, originating from various cities within Spain. The chef will explain the history of Spanish cuisine through these “Tapas”.
After that we will be ready to start the cooking class.
As a menu we will cook Seafood Paella, Spanish Omelet and Crema Catalana for dessert. Enjoy excellent regional wines.
Includes drinks throughout the activity, in the Tapas, in the cooking class and in the Menu.

This was an amazing experience and our chef had the most amazing personality! I’ve done these types of cooking classes in multiple countries and this one was amazing!

What a fun and memorable evening! Juan was a wonderful host and guide and chef. The tour of the Mércate de la Boqueria was interesting & informative. The place where we actually had the activity is beautiful! It is an apartment on the Plaça Real. The set- up is well organized. The 8 of us fit comfortably around an island where we had some prepared tapas and wine. Yummy! Then we learned how to prepare some Spanish dishes. Juan did a good job giving us different responsibilities in the food preparation. We had fun! He had an efficient assistant as well. After the prep we all sat at a dining table and had a delicious meal. It was an amazing evening. I highly recommend this.

Our host and instructor was very kind and knowledgable. We were a little quiet in the beginning but as we progressed through the market tour and eventually started cooking, the entire group was bantering and having fun! It was a really great experience. We divided the tasks amongst the team and put together some tasty dishes! We learned the value of (liquid) patience in cooking, and lots of different history and tips for cooking spanish dishes. We were in Spain for a week and this was the most fun activity we did while we were there.
The only negative is the venue can be a little hard to locate, as it is on the third floor of one of the buildings in the plaza, you need to ring a doorbell (between some restaurants) that has the company name on it.

We attended the tapas and paella class our first day in Barcelona and glad that we did. The market tour was incredibly valuable before the cooking even started. The small class of 8 was perfect for the space. Everyone had a knife and everyone was put to work. No spectators unless you wanted to be one. We used the knowledge gained during the rest of our time in Barcelona and even ate at some of the recommended restaurants in the market that we might typically have avoided for fear that they were too touristy. They were great. We learned enough to ignore the direction of the waiters and order the best things on the menu. Priceless.

Amazing experience! We had such a lovely time. My family and I filled up this class, so it was basically a private cooking class for us. Juan took us on a tour of La Boqueria Market, provided a delicious tasting of typical Barcelona and Catalan foods, and taught us to cook Tortilla, Catalan Cream, Pan con Tomate, and Paella. It was all fantastic fun, delicious food, and lovely wine. Thank you Juan and Just Royal BCN for a wonderful afternoon! I highly recommend Just Royal BCN!

The cooking class was amazing! Juan was a great host and gave us the history of gastronomy from the various regions of Spain. The tapas were great, and it was fun to cook and enjoy with the group.
I am not a fan of eggs, but the Tortilla de Patatas was delicious, and the Paella was fantastic!
I highly recommend this cooking class!

My daughter and I participated in this event. We learned a few new techniques that we will put into practice for our general cooking, but more than that, we learned to make several authentic Spanish dishes. We had a lot of fun trying new foods and wines, meeting other travelers, and eating a great meal at the end. We highly recommend this experience!

If you are in Barcelona, save a feel time for this cooking class. The place is lovely, food is so great, and Alfredo and Victor are amazing people! Just loved the experience!
