We had a blast with our driver and guide Nomi. We customized a schedule and he happily took us to every Kyoto spot we wanted to go. He made it easy for us to go to a landmark while he either accompanied us, or let us off and came and picked us up at locations that would have required us to walk back a long distance. He shared his great music while in his van, and also found us a super yummy lunch in the middle of the day. When coming back, we will ask for Nomi!!!

Worse tour we have ever taken. The puck up was a stressful disaster! We also paid $630.00 fir a cab driver! I do not recommend this tour to anyone!

Our driver was great. He knew where to go and was very friendly.
Tip: if you’re looking g for a guided tour, this is not it. He literally was just a driver and had a list of places to take us. So a little pricey for just a driver.
Next time I’ll book with a guide. I wanted to hear about where we were going and a bit about the places we were seeing.

When we booked this tour, the description clearly mentioned "private driver-guide". The day before the tour, I messaged the company via viator to confirm the time and I got a reply saying that it only provides a driver not a Tour guide. I wrote back saying if thats the case I wanted a refund. After a lot of back and forth, he finally wrote to me saying he will provide an "English speaking driver cum guide."
The ‘guide’ got in touch with us urging us to leave as early as possible the next morning. Although I understood his point we have two kids who didnt want to get up so early. After lecturing me the night before about going early he arrived 30 mins late !! His car was disgusting ( dirty) and smelt to which he replies that its not his- its his friends !?! Very unprofessional.
In all fairness, 'the guide' was very kind and congenial and he took the best photos of us with our iPhones. He was flexible and polite. However, he is not a guide and just knew the absolute basics of the description of the location. I knew more information on the tourist sights than him just by visiting the websites! His English was not fluent. He didn't even bother to make up stories about the sights like the other guides.
What bothers me is that after very specifically informing the company that I was indeed looking for a guide (as per their description) they still sent me a driver !

Our driver was punctual for our pickup. He was polite, very enthusiastic and shared history and information about each site. We were able to see more sites, without being rushed since our driver could take us at our pace…unlike a tour bus. Highly recommend this option.

Hussain was our driver , he was very pleasant and was flexible , picked us up wherever we were , responsive ! We knew ahead of time that this is not a guided tour , but we hit all the highlights of Kyoto and took our time exploring the areas : arashiyama , golden temple , Kyoto imperial palace, Nishiki market , Fushimi Inari . We are seniors , perfect for us !! Thank you Hussain , great attitude and smiles !!

The entire tour was fun and very entertaining, we were not stressed and the personal attention was great. He made sure we were comfortable and was very attentive if we were tired or needed a break. Totally recommend this tour

The tour guide could not care less about us. Talking on the phone- loudly all the time while driving, not mentioned a world about any place of interest. Feared for our safety but did not say things in case this would make the driver unhappy and drive even more dangerously. Car is smelly and dirty. Overall never had such a bad trip like this. Wasted a lovely day. Booked through viator before (not bad) and did not expect this bad service for this money. Terrible.
