Highlight of our Japan trip! My husband and I were just visiting Japan for the first time - We had Haru as our guide for the day and he really made this experience incredible for us! I had let Haru know in advance that I was pregnant and he was so considerate and accommodating to ensure I was ok the entire day. Before the excursion he had asked for some of the major sites we wanted to see and had a well structured plan for how we would get around the city to fit all these major sites in. He made the travel so easy and stress free. He always taught us about the history of each site before entering each. It was an amazing experience. Haru really exceeded any expectations we had about this tour and made our time in Kyoto one to remember!

We had the BEST guide! Haru Yamaguchi was excellent. First, he was incredibly thorough with our full day schedule according to what we wanted to see in Kyoto and Nara and made it all happen. We were in Japan on a 14 day cruise and Osaka/Kyoto was one of our ports. The Gion Festival was on our list of what we definitely wanted to see along with all the sites (and deer) in Nara.
For a few months before the trip, Haru was in constant communication with my husband and I, making sure the sites we wanted to see were perfect for us. He met us at the port on time (even though it look a little extra time for us to get off the ship due to immigration issues with the Diamond Princess) we took public transportation to Kyoto from Osaka and he set us up in the PERFECT spot to see the floats in the Gion Festival. There are no words how to describe how magical that was, watching the floats from the best corner and watching them turn the corner. After the festival we took public transit to Nara where we saw all the shrines and temples (I even squeezed through the small hole in Great Hall at Todaiji)
We fed the Deer of course! My suggestion would be to wait to feed them until you get closer to the temples, they are more hungrier there. It was also super hot and humid on the day we were there so bring a small electric fan if you are going in the summer.
After hours at Nara we headed back to the port in Osaka where Haru dropped us off and said our goodbyes.
** The whole time we were together Haru was explaining to us where we were, what things meant, and the history. He took awesome photos of us and was so kind and helpful in translating.
I would recommend this trip and Haru as a guide to anyone that is interested. He was perfect!!

Masaaki Tanaka (Masa) was assigned as our guide. I had numerous guides in the past, but none as professional, knowledgeable, friendly and informative as Masa. He made our Kyoto exploration so much more enjoyable. We got to learn, not just the basics, but also much about Kyoto and Japan’s ancestral history. Masa is full of very interesting and engaging details about the rich history of this town. I will recommend Masa to all my friends and family visiting Kyoto.

Trip Advisor and Japan Guide Agency (JGA) are very fortunate to have a person like Masa representing them. He is the sole reason why I will returning to to your business.

Thank you Masa!
You are awesome!

This was a great way to see the sights in Kyoto we were most interested in. Our guide (Reo) asked ahead of time what we wanted to see, he then made a custom itinerary based on our interests. He made navigating the city easy and stress free (we were especially concerned coming from Osaka). He spoke English well and was very friendly.

Our guide, Kazno Sumi-san was knowledgeable and engaging. He brought us to the places we wanted to see and a couple more that were on the way. We took a combination of different public transport to get to the destinations, including the bus. You will be good if you have the rail pass or suica to get around. Admission fees to some shrines range from 500¥ to 600¥. We were a little shrined out at the end of the day and chose to end it at Gion to enjoy some food and drinks. Sumo-San gave us some recommendations on where to go and eat at the end of it. We had a great time overall .
