Absolutely a fantastic experience. Thoroughly enjoyed this food tour.
Mana was a great tour guide. Friendly and engaging, she took us to some interesting places to eat.
Wear comfortable shoes as there is some walking involved.
One resturant we went to we sat on the floor but the others chairs and bench seating.
I would totally recommend this tour.

Mana was a delightful Tour guide. We all had a great time walking through the streets and savoring some exciting delights. It all started with Uoriki pike conger eel and soymilk doughnuts and then to a Sake bar. I learned a lot about Sake and its four quadrants of flavor profiles. The firefly squid was sensational! Other notable mention was the pear persimmon with cured meat! Yum!. Then on to another place with Kyoto style sushi where the pickled mackerel was excellent. Finally to a tempura style restaurant - all good!! We had a wonderful time together and wrapped it up although this was not part of the official tour - going for Karaoke. A wonderfully delightful evening! Thank you Mana!

If I could give 3.5 stars would! We were coming off the back of another food tour with the same provider in Tokyo and we had the best time on that one so perhaps we had unrealistic expectations for this tour. The food was ok nothing special and not memorable - if you have to pick from ninjas offerings go with the Tokyo one - it is a great night out! This really was nothing special and we were very disappointed

We had an excellent selection of Kyoto specialties guided by Mana our wonderful guide and enjoyed socialising with the other guests. This is combined with strolling through the fascinating Nishiki market as well as Gion at night which comes alive like a Studio Ghibli film set. Definitely highly recommended.

This was a fantastic way to get to know Kyoto and eat a lot of delicious food in some cool tucked away places we wouldn't have found on our own! Mana was an excellent host, friendly and super knowledgeable about the area and it's cuisine. Would highly recommend!

This was an easy, enjoyable way to spend a night in Kyoto. Our guide, CJ, made it feel like we were friends visiting and she was taking us to some of her favourite local places. It was interesting and CJ was attentive to individual tastes and preferences. We re-visited the markets the next day and treated ourselves to a wagyu restaurant based on CJ's recommendations.

I had an incredible experience on the Kyoto food tour. The guide's excellent English and deep knowledge of Kyoto's history enriched the journey. Each culinary stop introduced me to new, delightful flavors, and the engaging conversations throughout the night made it a truly memorable experience. Highly recommend!

Moe was a wonderful guide, explaining to us local products/customs etc. we had a lovely time learning about Kyoto from a local’s viewpoint and had great food & drinks. Highly recommend!

CJ is awesome! She is super friendly and clearly loves what she does. CJ took us to some wonderful spots, had great recommendations for the market, for ice cream and Sake, and taught us some local history. She even helped a few of us make restaurant reservations for the next night in Japanese. CJ is an incredible asset to the guide community in Kyoto, especially for English speakers.
