The landscape behind the Kinderdijk windmills is just as impressive. You do not want to miss this beautiful cycling tour. It will bring you great insights in the Dutch watermanagement system, beautiful sceneries and skies and of course lots of fresh air! This river-landscape tour is completed with a coffee-break at a nice local spot, tasting home-made icecream at a farm and enjoying a snack in the fields. You will enjoy entering Kinderdijk from another point of view. At Kinderdijk we will first visit the biological cheesefarm where you can taste and buy cheese. This tour ends in the Kinderdijk windmills area, where you will not miss anything as we included the entrance to the official visitor windmill.
Your private guide speaks fluent English or Spanish.
Please note: if you wish to buy cheese at the farm, payments have to be made in cash or by PIN. Creditcard payments unfortunately will be not accepted.

This fun bike tour was one of the highlights of my trip to the Netherlands. Kinderjik is a UNESCO World heritage site where you can see authentic, original, working windmills that are also homes to full time residents who maintain these national treasures. The idyllic area is full of waterways, bridges and bird life that can be viewed and photographed close up. My guide, Marco, lives in Kinderjik with his wife and children. I travelled by train, only 47 minutes from Utrecht and Marco met me at the train station. He knows the Kinderjik area well and took me to beautiful viewpoints and places that I would not have accessed on my own. He also introduced me to some of the people there including a lovely cheese farmer to sample amazing local cheeses. Marco was an attentive, patient, knowledgeable guide, sensitive to my objectives and needs, while also being respectful and aware of the people who live there and the eco systems. He is also good at photography and took some beautifully composed photos for me with my cell phone. The bikes we used are near new and a helmet was even offered too. The flat terrain and well maintained trails are easy to traverse. The tour also provided some high quality Dutch country foods and a great coffee. It was an absolutely perfect relaxing day. Considering everything included—water bus ticket, rental bike, food, admission to the area, and a personal guide it is great value for the money. I feel like I saw the real Holland and not just another tourist trap. Highly recommend (Try to get on a tour with Marco if possible).

It is a must-go experience, riding a bike in this historical and charming site, seeing the windmills and fields. The trip also includes the waterbus from Rotterdam which gave you good sightseeing on the shoreline.
The guide Marco is excellent and attentive. He shared good information about the area, Kinderjik. It’s easy pace ride and we went 2.5 hours without knowing it. Good point stops we could take a break and nice pictures.
I came from Amsterdam and it’s only 30 mins train if you can catch the direct train. The whole trip started 10am ended at 3pm, I could still spend couple more hours in Rotterdam for sightseeing.

Marco was an excellent host and guide. Very attentive and made sure we knew exactly where to go and what to do. He lives in Kinderdijk so took us a little off the beaten path and to the best places for photos. He is a very good photographer!
The tour can be as short or as long as you wish given the boat schedule from Rotterdam, which makes it really nice. Also, if you are a birder, it is wonderful.
Highly recommend this tour and Marco as your guide. It is not strenuous. It is relaxing, and the air is as fresh as it gets.

Marco was amazing and provided a wonderful day, even in super rainy weather. We got to ride by the local farms, learn about the agriculture industry, and see lots of wild and domesticated animals. The visit to the local cheese factory was a special stop. Biking was definitely the way to go because we got to see so much more.
Marco was really great as a guide. He was in constant communication with us to make sure our arrival and tour were effortless. Marco also enjoyed sharing the local insights which made our day even more enjoyable.
This day was one of our best days of our trip.

My son and I did this tour mid November with Marco. He picked us up at our hotel in Rotterdam and guided us every step of the way as we boated to Kinderdijk, teaching us about the area. It was a lovely relaxing and scenic day for both of us. Highly recommend!

An amazing and relaxed bicycle tour through the countryside and into the Kinderdijk windmill area. Marco is informative, personable and fits the tour to your interest. He also knows the best angles for beautiful photos.! There was time to walk through the windmill that is now a museum and stop at the local cafe (with gorgeous views of the windmills) for a coffee and desert.

If you really want a full Kinderdijk tour this is it! Marcos takes you on a relaxing ride through the countryside and brings you right to the center of the windmills. Aside from being very friendly and informative, Marco knows the best angles for the most beautiful pictures. I cannot recommend this tour enough! Also, follow Marco on Instagram…TravelKinderdijk!!
