Jiufen (also known as Jioufen, Chiufen or 九份), once a prosperous gold rush town before the 1970s, straddles the Pacific Ocean and is perfectly situated up in the hills. Today, with its picturesque stone walls, narrow cobblestone streets and tea houses, the ancient city has become an inspirational mecca for artists, writers, and movie directors.

The tour guide and driver were both very nice, and friendly. We had a great time in Jiufen. Will recommend friends and family to do this tour!

Outstanding everything! Our tour guide, David, was prompt with communication, his English was great and most importantly his knowledge of the area and history was exceptional. Our driver, Harry, was great too. Both of them took wonderful care of our whole group!! Thank you for your flexibility and guiding us on this adventure. The sky lanterns were a highlight!!

Our guide, Logan, took 6 of us on a 7 hour tour into the small villages of Jiufen and Shifen. We stopped along the way for vistas, waterfalls, and to look into temples. We walked through busy markets, making a few purchases along the way. But the highlight was sending up our sky lanterns. What fun! Logan said we needed to put our names on it so the God knew who to bless so we put out names on it, along with the name of our wonderful guide, Logan. Thank you Topology and thank you Logan!
