On this wonderous day tour from Reykjavík explore the waterfalls and glaciers for which Iceland´s southern coastline is famed.

Once everyone is aboard our bus, we depart Reykjavík for Vík. Here we switch to a super-jeep for the difficult journey as we ascend onto the glacier. 4x4 power is essential for this task. Enjoy the glacial landsape as we explore strange ice formations and the crystal blue ice of Katla Ice cave.

Explore Vík, with its black beach, and grab lunch. We then rejoin the bus and on our journey back the the capital, makes stops at Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss, two of Iceland´s most beautiful waterfalls.

This really is the essential south coast experience and we hope you take lasting memories with you at the end of your day of adventure with us.

I’ve been to over 70 countries, and have probably done hundreds of day tours. This one was the best. Well-organised, the sites were absolutely incredible, and our guides (Petor, our main driver, and Alex, who drove the monster truck-type car that got us to Katla Glacier) were both clear, considerate communicators who structured the activities perfectly. I’ve never walked with clampons or hiked on a glacier, and really dislike uphill climbing. But the glacier hike was actually the highlight of the day: not strenuous, very doable, with absolutely extraordinary views the likes of which I’d never seen. The waterfalls were, like the glacier, far more magical than any photo could capture. I recommend people invest in entirely waterproof clothing from head to toe to make the most of them— you’ll definitely need to get wet to take the best shots. Petor added an extra stop to take us to the black sand beach, which completed a perfect day in Iceland’s south. My only suggestion would be to make the description of this tour clearer. You’ll spend 3 hours for the glacier activity, about half of which is on the glacier itself— so don’t let the 6 hour description intimidate you! I’d also suggest that the black sand beach becomes a permanent feature of this tour, since it’s so wonderful, rather than a day-of add-on. Special thanks to Alex for being a wonderful conversationalist, to Petor for the many interesting details he shared, and to the company for providing very comfortable cars & regular bathroom/ food breaks. This was worth every penny! Simply extraordinary.

Wonderful Experience! Joseph was our guide and he was such a joy- spoke just enough with a lot of great history and he had great jokes too! His playlist was also amazing! The ice cave and hike was spectacular! Just book the tour and enjoy! Great stops with food along the way and the waterfalls were beautiful! Be sure to bring waterproof gear if you plan to get close to the falls! And keep some water on you for the hike up to the ice cave!

I cannot reccommend this tour enough. Beaitfoul tour of waterfalls and amazong ice cave.It was the highlight of our trip. Our guide Monica was fantastic, she was efficient, kind and entertaining, she really made the day fly by! She took beautiful photos of us by Skogafoss and explained everything and told us interesting facts and stories as she navigated icy roads.

Special mention to John too who was our guide/driver on Katla. We were travelling with our mother who was 70 and he was so considerate and patient while also being great fun! We felt really lucky that our guides were Monica and John! They went above and beyond.

We had a great tour, the guide was knowledgeable and the itinerary had numerous stops for breaks with stunning photo opportunities.

The scenery on the drive was spectacular so the driving time from Reykjavik flew by. The Katla ice cave and glacier hike were incredible. The super jeep drive to the glacier was a bit bumpy so make sure you take travel sickness medication if you get car sick, but totally worth the bumps for the experience. The hike itself wasn’t too long with a smaller steeper section and the views were to die for! The ice cave itself was beautiful with numerous chambers to explore and lots of opportunities for spectacular photos! Would definitely recommend tasting the glacier ice as well as there is an option to do that at the end which was super fun.

The waterfalls were beautiful and there were ample facilities and food options throughout the tour as well, would definitely recommend this trip to others travelling to Iceland as it was super efficient, easy to navigate and definitely worth the price!

Wow just wow! I came for the northern lights but found the glacier and ice cave probably the most beautiful thing I’ve seen. The colors and scenery were just so amazing. The drive to the base of the glacier was a little sketchy but well worth it and our driver and guide Helgi seemed experienced traversing the off road ice path. I highly recommend this, but it’s not for the faint of heart.
