Kyudo is a Japanese martial art based on shooting an arrow from a Japanese bow to a target to reach a complete focus of mind and body. The main difference of kyudo and western archery is that, in kyudo, every movement follows a traditional routine that pays respect to the equipment and to the opponent. You will come to the archery range and dress in an authentic kyudo uniform, which will include dogi—the upper wear—and hakama—the lower wear. I'll give a brief explanation about the art of kyudo as well as instructions and demonstrations. With the knowledge you'll gain, you will learn to shoot arrows at the target. You'll also understand the fun and challenging aspect of the sport, particularly while wearing the traditional hakama and armor. Usually in kyudo, you are not allowed to pull the arrow unless you master the basics. But during our lesson, you will be able to enjoy the real kyudo experience even as a complete beginner. It will be a great time if you are looking for a nice photo or movie to show to your friends.

We had a great time. The instruction was clear and helpful. Very friendly and knowledgeable instructor. It was a really engaging, fun and hands-on experience of a traditional Japanese art form.

We had a great time learning the history of archery, dating back 800yrs & the technique used to hit their targets & equipment. Family had a lot of fun & laugh, all kitted up in traditional dress & very competitive when it came to the mini tournament. Would definitely recommend to others & we would come back again.
Very personalised our instructor professional & very funny.

The instructor was very informative and easy to communicate with (for those of us that only speak english)! It was safe and a ton of fun. Our instructor was also kind enough to take photos for us while we were enjoying the experience. There was a little surprise at the end, so do your best and good luck!

This was our last activity in Hiroshima before going on to Osaka. Our experience was very enjoyable and informative. Our instructor was friendly and made us feel comfortable. Language differences were not an issue. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was a great way to end out weekend.

We had a rainy day in Hiroshima and found this highly rated activity on Trip Advisor and thought we’d give it a try. The instructor was very friendly and was able to communicate with some help from Google translate. We had a great time! Exceeded our expectations. The only thing we had trouble with was the address which gave our taxi driver a problem as its in a pedestrian mall.

I had a fun time in Sharaku!
My first experience to do Kuy-do.
The owner taught us how to play very nicely and my skill was improved a lot in an hour:)
The location was good, only 6mins from Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and local station. The space was not big but enough to enjoy Kyu-do.
The place is 3ed floor(2nd floor in UK), I recommend not to bling heavy luggages unless you are confident to carry them up.
