Turkish Bath is a cleaning method which has been used since the initial years of Ottoman Empire. Your skin gets softer as the result of perspiration in the hammam.

Relaxing and cleansing. The scrubs rejuvenated my skin and my face looked great after the facial. I came a second time the next week.

We were 2 couples and we spent a very good and relaxing moment at the hammam.
The hammam's team is very professional. The various rooms are really nice and very clean.

I chose the most reasonably priced option for the traditional Turkish bath, the hammam. First, I took a bath in a greenhouse for about 30 minutes to acclimate my body, then moved on to the body scrub. I was enveloped in plenty of bubbles as they alternated between hot and cold water, and finally relaxed on the bed with a serving of tea. There was no time constraint, so I was able to relax to my heart's content after the service, which was a great experience!

My husband and I wanted to try the Turkish hamam while we were in Turkey. We went to Aga Hamami not knowing what to expect. We ordered the hamam and oil massage. When we arrived, there were a few other couples sitting and waiting. The greeter asked for our names and seemed a bit confused even though I had ordered the service through Viator ahead of time. She didn’t know which package I had ordered either. We then had to wait a few minutes before entering the steam room. I was under the impression that my husband and I would have a more intimate hamam experience but it was very crowded in the sauna area. We spent 40 minutes in there together with about 4 other couples. Then we were called to go for our bath. The lady who was scrubbing me was nice but she didn’t speak any English so it was difficult for me to understand her. Then, my husband and I reunited in the lounge area and had some tea and another sweet drink which was quite refreshing. After about 15 minutes, we went for our oil massage. I walked in to a room where there was another woman who was also getting an oil massage. I felt a bit uncomfortable having another person there but tried to enjoy the massage anyway. We spent almost 3 hours there. I felt somewhat relaxed but I would have liked to spend more time with my husband atleast for the massage part.

I achieved a life long goal of spending our American Thanksgiving (a.k.a. Turkey Day) in TURKEY! So, for the actual Thanksgiving holiday, we filled the day with local and fun activities - one of which was a family Turkish bath experience at Aga Hamami. What a memorable Thanksgiving holiday!
Our hotel booked the service on our behalf and it was cash only. Upon arrival (leave yourself time to find it in the winding streets of Istanbul), we were promptly met and assured that it was okay we were a few minutes late due to getting a bit lost.
Aga Hamami provides towels, slippers, etc and did a great job giving us piece of mind given we had NEVER done a Turkish bath before. They were one of the few outfits agreeable to us bring the children, 4 and 7 year old boys.
If you are looking for an authentic Turkish experience, it does not get more authentic than this...it has been operating as a hamam since 1454!!! I hope to return some day!!!

This was an absolute amazing experience to end an amazing girls trip! I didn’t know what to expect with my first Turkish bath, and this exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend.

Easy to find location and easy to book! The smells and experience overall was worth it and staff were attentive and super friendly. Going to a hamami when you're in Istanbul is a must!

I went to Istanbul for a weekend in December 2023. It was my first time there and one thing I wanted to do was to go to a Turkish Bath.
I made a Google search and found Aga Hamami, the oldest Turkish Bath in the city. The reviews and pictures looked amazing so I decided to make a booking. It was the best decision I made during this trip.
I booked the massage package, which included entrance to the Turkish Bath, scrubbing, foam bath and oil massage.
From the moment I walked it, I felt welcomed. The gentleman at the reception was very kind and showed me the changing room so then I could start my whole relaxing experience with the bath. After that, I moved to a separate room for the scrubbing and foam bath. The lady (sorry I forgot her name), was also welcoming and smiling. She scrubbed my whole body first and then the foam bath followed by a massage. I nearly fell asleep as it was so relaxing. After that I was asked to go upstairs and was offered a cold drink with a Turkish delight.
Another lady (sorry forgot the name too)took me to the massage room for the oil massage. It did not disappoint either. The massage was so relaxing! And guess what, I was almost asleep by the end of it.
I’ve never felt so relaxed like that.
Overall, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Aga Hamami if you go to Istanbul. Amazing staff, beautiful place and décor and on top of that, the massage package was a great value for money.
Thanks to all the team at Aga Hamami for making my trip in Istanbul memorable.
