Recommend this tour. Enjoyed the tour and the travel to get there. Although was disappointed that we couldn't see the trojan horse as it's under renovation. Also, would've liked it if we also had time to visit the Troy museum as well.

Unfortunately, it was a thunderstorm day for me:)
The bus was new and clean and safe, both way. Our guide was great!
The lunch was not eatable, the whole trip was a good experience

Don’t be misled, you won’t see the horse in the picture. You won’t be able to see it as it is under construction.
They would only tell you when the date is near. In our case, we were already on tour and had limited internet connection so we only saw it the day before the trip. They wouldn’t let us cancel despite the misinformation in their ad (for the horse that we will see). The horse was under renovation 6 months ago, but the pictures still show that the horse will be there and there was no disclaimer that it is actually being renovated.
Since we weren’t getting refunded, we went on with the tour. I was hoping they would salvage the already unpleasant experience. However, our tour guide was always in a rush, he would not let us stop to take pictures. We were also with senior citizens, and would not even wait for them. He compressed the tour of the ancient city in an hour an a half. This is actually the only thing you’ll get for this tour.
The tour operator is difficult to deal with. Save yourself from this inconvenience.
I do not recommend this tour and this operator.

If you're not familiar with the story of Troy, the visit will seem like viewing a pile of rocks. With knowledge of its historical background a day trip to Troy is amazing. To walk in the footsteps of Achilles and Hector (supposedly) and Alexander The Great (actually) is a dream come true. The tour was well organized with hotel pickup and drop off but was a long day with long van rides in between the visit to the site. Our guide at the site was friendly, knowledgable and humorous. Lunch was provided and was quite good also. The rides through the Turkish countryside were an added bonus as exploring just Istanbul doesn't give you a true feel for the country.

It is difficult to compress 4000 years into a few hours but the guide did that very well. The only criticism was that there was no time to look at the site in your own time.

We were collected from lunch and taken to Troy. Ibrahim was out guide. He had a good knowledge of the site.
The site itself is confusing as there is 9 layers of Troy, so it is difficult to picture one thing amongst 9 different things.
But Crowded House did a great job.

Excellent tour, very very happy with how the
logistics where handled leading up to and
during the tour. No hassle with hotel pick up
or drop off, breakfast lunch and dinner was
very nice, kept quick so not to reduce your
time seeing Troy. The tour of the ancient city
was amazing, our guide had a wonderful
knowledge of the historical importance of
the 9 cities of Troy, he had a wonderful
sense of humour, even sorted out 3 non
English speaking ladies on the tour with an
audio guide to help them. He pointed out the
tomb of Achilles which you would have
missed so easily if you did t know it was out
there. One improvement, would like to have
had more time to see Troy, 2 hrs was fine but
to wander a bit more around the area would
have been nice. But as I said an amazing
day trip from
Istanbul.

Fantastic day! Everything is very well organised! Excellent historic overview from our tour guide called Ibo. He really cared and was one of the best tour guides I’ve seen on this trip to Turkey. Very impressive site too!

It was a great trip and the tour company basically takes care of everything logistically. They were essentially right on time for my pick up and early for drop off in the evening which was nice. It is definitely quite a bit of travel time for a relatively short amount of time at the destination but if you are a history nut, it is worth it. Only suggestion I have is that it would be nice if the tour included a stop at the traditional tomb of Achilles and Patroclus.
