2. Cicek Pasaji
A meyhane is a traditional restaurant or bar in Turkey. It serves alcoholic beverages like wine, rakı, vodka, beer with meze and traditional foods. “Meyhane” is composed of two Persian words: mey (wine) and khāneh (house). A meyhane refers to a restaurant with traditional food, decoration, and music.
3. Avrupa Pasaji
Stop at another street food vendor for İçli Köfte; Sabirtaşı makes Istanbul’s best içli köfte (a crispy bulgur shell filled with minced meat, parsley, and sautéed pine nuts), and if you don’t feel like walking up to their restaurant, their İstiklal Street vendor is always around to serve up the köfte on the go. Made by hand on a daily basis, the içli köfte are downright delicious.
4. Passage Hazzopulo
We are sure, easily you will find Turkish coffee all around Istanbul but you should know another traditional type of coffee drink as Menengic Pistachio Coffee. Menengic is produced from the coffee tree. This tree is Latin name is pistacia terebinthustur. In Turkey, menengic trees grow naturally in mountainous rural parts of the Mediterranean region, Southeastern Anatolia region, and Central Anatolia region without any need of any planting process. Menengiç Coffee has different ways of cooking, but the most common method of cooking is to cook just like Turkish coffee.
5. Taksim Square
You must not leave Turkey without tasting Dürüm Kebab that is the sliced meat of a döner kebab may be served on a plate with various accompaniments, stuffed into a pita or other type of bread as a sandwich, or wrapped in a thin flatbread such as lavash or yufka, known as a dürüm. Since the early 1970s, the sandwich or wrap form has become popular around the world as a fast food dish sold by kebab shops and is often called simply a “kebab”. The sandwich generally contains salad or vegetables, which may include tomato, lettuce, cabbage, onion with sumac, fresh or pickled cucumber, or chili, and various types of sauces.
6. Republic Monument
Turkish people love sweets and confectionaries. Let try some of them; Beyoğlu Chocolate; one of the most famous chocolates in Istanbul are the milk or dark chocolate bars filled with enormous hazelnuts, pistachios, or almonds, sold on İstiklal Street at Meşhur Beyoğlu Çikolatacısı. The manufacturer of these grab-and-go chocolates is Elit, which has been around since 1924.
7. Taksim Gezi Park
Baklava (baqlawah) is a rich, sweet pastry made of layers of filo pastry filled with chopped walnuts or pistachio and sweetened with syrup or honey. It is a very traditional Turkish Dessert.Ice cream; traditional ice cream in Turkey incorporates natural thickening agents, which give it a smooth, compact, and almost stringy texture.

Gamze was fun from the moment we met and we knew we were in for a treat of an evening. The destinations were well researched and in between we enjoyed learning about the local history and culture. All the food we had was delicious and we would highly recommend the experience. It was definitely the highlight of our few days in Istanbul, thank you Gamze.

This was one of the best evening Foodie tours we have been on and the difference was our guide Gamze, she was excellent. She avoided the touristy places and took us to the authentic local food stops along the way where the food, drinks and venues were excellent.
Gamze's personal service went above and beyond and was glittered with many of her personal experiences and stories. Gamze also recommended and helped secure a special restaurant for us and included additional historical stops and knowledge along the way. I would highly recommend the tour and Gamze as your tour guide. The Aussies - Alison, Marcus, Deb & Andy.

Erol was was a fantastic guide. He is passionate and knowledgeable not only about the amazing food of Istanbul, but also about culture and history of the city and the whole country. We spent a great evening walking through Beyoğlu and we tasted some outstanding traditional dishes. It was one of the highlights of our entire Istanbul-trip and a great experience.

When we heard a food trip in İstanbul we got very curious. We are food loving family. We also love little trips and sight seeing. This trip was very good mixure of both. We had the best energetic guide (Gamze) . She was wonderful. Positive, polite and knowledgeable. Foods was delicious and fair priced. I recommend it to every one who goes to Istanbul.

I feel this tour missed on many levels. First off, the tour guide barely let our group interact. He consistently interrupted our conversation while trying to leverage information that was unnecessary. Secondly, the good is not that good. Lastly, I feel the guide needed to read the group better and let the tour progress a little more organically. Lastly, there is only raki at the first stop and then not another offer of beer or wines. Making the title of tour, " local taverns" misleading.

Highlight of our trip to Istanbul. Highly recommend it. You will learn so much about not just Turkish food, but also about Turkish culture. I agree with all other reviewers that Erol is amazing! He has a great personality and speaks very good English. If you have limited time in Istanbul and want to try many types of foods, this is the way to do it.

We did a food tour with Tolga. It was absolutely the best. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the food and the history of the area, and was amazing at answering our questions. Tolga was very fun and funny, and the food tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Istanbul. Will definitely seek this guide out again in the future.
