The fire show was amazing
Food was okay
It’s seems to be something the resort has planned and I would have loved a little more excitement and stories or dancing. The Performers were absolutely lovely though!

Don’t book a Luau with Island Breeze.
Normally there aren’t any Luau’s in Hilo.
We decided to book a Luau at the Grand Naniloa Hotel Hilo Doubletree on Mother’s Day.
Doubletree partner with Island Breeze has in the Crown Room.
They set up the buffet outside the crown room on the sidewalk! The food was so gross that we couldn’t even eat it and ice cold.
The show was hokey, singers sounded like howling dogs.
It was so bad we left 10 minutes after the show started!!
I know Island Breeze does shows in Kona. I recommend to avoid not booking with them no matter were the at at!

I have wanted to enjoy a luau all my life and I was not disappointed. The shows were wonderful. We enjoyed the food and drinks and all the personnel were friendly and helpful. If I get back to Kona, I will definitely go again. Aloha

My husband and I went to the Luau on a Tuesday it was sprinkling and the hosts gave us rain ponchos. The set up is beautiful and the show was fantastic! It was also interactive which made it lots of fun!
The food looked amazing but the meat was quite dry. We were lucky enough to be blessed with a rainbow 🌈! The open bar was beer and well drinks. They had mai-tais also..but they didn’t have blue Hawaii’s (which I really wanted!) But I was still happy. They also validate parking!

The dancing of course, and learning about the culture. I loved every minute of it. The food was great and there was plenty of it for everyone.

Great history of the island and traditions, the food was great and so was the dancing. Started to drizzle and they provided rain ponchos

The show and the staff were great. We luckily had a great seat. Most seating is large tables where you are joined with other families. Online it says the show is 2-3 hours. Ours lasted 1.5 hours but really it was less because that included the line for check in. So we basically had an hour show with mediocre food and very weak cocktails. I will give credit to the talent they did an awesome job. But I expected a 3 hour event not 1 hour so I was very disappointed. It was not even close to worth the money we spent. I do NOT recommend booking this event.

This luau was underwhelming. While the location was convenient to where we were staying and the setting was very pretty, the food was mediocre and while some of the performances were good, the overall experience was not great. Sitting was crowded and it was difficult to see the stage. We were expecting 2-3 hours of entertainment and only got an hour and a half. I am pretty sure they cut it short due to rain but when I inquired earlier in the day about the potential of rain, I was told the show goes on, rain or shine.

My recommendation, find another local restaurant to have a nice dinner or look for a different luau to attend.

We were very disappointed in this show. We have been to many luaus over the years. The music did not have the Hawaiian feel to us. The dancers did a good job but seemed to be crowded on stage. The food was good, nice variety .

The arrival of the King and his entourage was very fitting, since this was the home of King Kamehameha. All of the stage acts were very good but the fire dancer in particular was quite breathtaking. We were however disappointed that the ceremony of the opening of the Imu didn't appear to happen. We arrived on time, prior to the recommended 5:30pm, and food was already being served to guests.
