Bus tour was as expected but bus stops have no signage. We waited near the Jewish historical museum for about 45 min before the first bus showed up- were not really sure where the bus would stop. Would probably recommend that people start at stop 1 because of the confusion at other stops.

Pros: We took the boat cruise and you have 7 stops around the city and you can visit plenty of places and spend as much time as you want and take the next boat. They are about 25 to 30 minutes apart. As long as you know when the last boat is, you can use your tickets for 24 hours from your start time, so we encourage you to take it mid-day and use it the next day, since in May it rains mostly in the afternoon in our experience.

Cons: Unless you got cell service and use their QR code on the map, the times when the boats come by are not exact and if another boat is in their docking spot (most places on the canals are free to dock) then you will have to wait a little bit more. Make sure you are aware of when the last boat comes and at which stop it ends; you don't want to get stuck far from your place and have to get a taxi or a bus/tram, much less walk.

Tips:
. You can bring a small lunch to eat on board; this information comes from their staff at the Vondelpark ticket booth.
. If you plan on visiting the Gassan diamond store which is free with your ticket purchase, know that you will have to attend a sales pitch. However you can leave at any time and go across the main building to get a free coffee or tea from their very nice machines and use their clean restrooms (WC).

What a waste of money. First boat broke down and no room on second arrival. Time between boats unacceptably long. Very little sineage, so almost impossible to locate pick up points. Some VERY dirty with litter etc.
Do you research better than we and book a dedicated boat trip.

bus stops are not clearly marked. It was an ok way to see amsterdam. log waits for bus. couldn't get to boat. for older people who cannot walk as much, getting to and from the bus stops was difficult.

We arrived on the bus on stop 1. Every stop, the bus stopped to allow people to get on and off. The bus stopped even if no one got on or off. But stop 5, the Jewish Quarter, he just kept going and then stopped at 6. This messed up our entire day! We missed appointments and had us lost. This is terrible.

Horrible. The hop on hop off in amstredam moved the location of stop one to another location and neither they or viator bothered to tell us that the previous location that we were told was wrong, we spent 2 hours try to find it and got no reply from the chat box and had no other way to phone or reach anyone. And we had pre paid

Tried to get on the bus twice after waiting 40 min each time to be told there was no room for more passengers… very poor … we did not get to use the bus option but only took the canal tour… operator needed to have more buses running that day … lots of people were turned away…

We weren't able to go on the bus due to time constraints of the cruise, but the boat ride was lovely. I wasn't expecting so much traffic though.
