I kind of blindly booked the tour without knowing much about it, but it worked out great. The company had great communication beforehand so I knew the plan. They picked our family of three up at our hotel at the pre-arranged time and we basically had a private SUV ride to and from the dam. Once there we were provided power plant tour tickets with instructions to do the tour, explore the dam afterward and then meet back up in two hours. The tour guide pointed out some hidden gems during the drive and spots of interest to check out on our own. The only thing I can add is apparently we did a shorter power plant tour, but there's also a longer dam tour available that isn't an option on the tour. So just be warned if you want the more in depth tour then you need to figure out how to do that.

Great dam tour! Were able to get in before the crowds and had plenty of time to check out the dam. Sammy our guide is a Vegas local and has a ton knowledge about the area. He also showed us some great spots to get the best views.
