I was travelling early Dec’ during the off season when things are a little quieter so it was just TK and me. It’s good to know the tour will go ahead regardless of the headcount.
Bear in mind this tour does not include a large amount of food and drink. The food & drink isn’t especially unique, except for the Okonomiyaki which you could find yourself in Okonomiyaki-mura.
However, I still give 5 stars for TK himself! TK made the evening very memorable for me. It was great to chat with a local about a variety of topics. We only needed to resort to a translation app a couple of times. TK also acted as a translator allowing me to chat with some of the bar staff at the last bar who were serving locally produced ales! We also had a fun little language exchange, sharing funny English and Japanese slang. Be sure to share yours!
TK also suggested some other excellent bars and restaurants based on my interests and he didn’t let me down. I had a wonderful evening the following day thanks to his recommendations.

We enjoyed our evening with TK, visiting two bars and a restaurant. TK was able to help us with some interesting local information and add to our Japanese vocabulary. An entertaining evening.

TK was fantastic. The venues definately allowed us to experience Hiroshima as a local. TK gave us wonderful insights into the Japanese culture and language. We learned so much and enjoyed all three venues.

I had a fabulous trip to Japan and one of the highlights was the tour with you TK I learned a lot from your knowledge and the great places you took us to. I would highly recommend this tour to travellers going to your amazing country. It would be great if our paths cross again one day.

TK was an excellent and friendly host, taking us out to a great okonomiyaki place and a couple of very friendly bars, while also giving us some history lessons about Hiroshima and helping me with my Japanese. Can’t recommend this highly enough.

I usually do one or two of these types of tours in each city I go to, and I think this is one of the better ones.
As a solo traveler, I really like the opportunity to meet with a local and discuss the area, and share stories. It’s also a great way to visit places I wouldn’t normally. Also, as someone who doesn’t speak Japanese, I am a bit intimidated to walk into an Izakaya by myself. This is a non-issue when going with a local though.
TK is great. He is very friendly, knowledgeable, and fun to be around. We spent a while sharing stories. Even though it was just the two of us, things never got awkward.
The Okonomiyaki was great too! I had it once before in the US, but it was a different style. I think the Hiroshima style served on this tour is much better than what I previously had.
I’d recommend this tour to anyone, and I am glad I went on it.

TK was warm and inviting; happy to answer any question and share his local knowledge. We went to his udon suggestion the next day and it was the best meal of the trip!

Sampling foods and drinks at Hiroshima bars was so much fun for my wife and I with Tanaka to help explain the wide variety of Japanese foods and drinks, where to go and importantly to know what you're asking for. He's got an easy, happy personality and well suited as a food guide. The little restaurant's/bars hidden away around Nishiki Market in Hiroshima was bubbling with life and people enjoying themselves and Tanaka made us feel very welcome, he introduced us to locals, fed us on different cuisines enjoyed ourselves so much we stayed much longer than planned. We ate Okonomiyaki, a noodle based pizza with our favourite filling cooked on an open grill, just delicious, I'm going to try it at home plus sampled different beverages. At the end of the night, Tanaka ensured we were safely returned back to our hotel. It's a wonderful experience made all the more enjoyable with our happy guide Tanaka.

We had the most wonderful time on the tour with Tanaka. We found this tour via Klook and were delighted with the three locations we got to visit. Each showed a different aspect of the cusine. We started with a local bar serving small plates, then for our main meal we went to a traditional okonomiyaki. We finished the night in a modern bar drinking craft beer. It was such a great evening, where we learnt a great amount from our guide about japan, the culture and delicious food! Would highly recommend for single people to meet other travellers, anyone interested in food and couples looking for fun date spots.
