Highly recommend Jacamar and the private tour option! We booked a combo Hike & Nature tour along with zip-lining for our family of 4. Our tour guide on the canopy tour hike, Andres, was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable, taught us a ton about the rain forest, and made the hike fun. Andres pointed out several animals that we would have walked by without notice. I would not do the tour without a guide like Andres.

Jacamar tours made seeing the hanging bridges and La Fortuna Waterfall in Costa Rica so fun and easy. The shuttles are very nice, comfortable, and clean. The tour guides are very informative and pointed out wildlife that we would've never seen on our own. Being picked up at our resort and dropped off at the entrance to the tours was phenomenal. We felt very well taken care of. I would definitely recommend using Jacamar tour guides when visiting any of the local sightseeing areas.

We did the tour that includes the hanging bridges, the La Fortuna waterfall and the Arrnal 1968 trail. It was an awesome day! Jason was our guide; he is excellent at his job! I definitely recommend.

The guide (Jason) was great, and very good at finding birds and animals during our adventure. He also made sure we got great pictures and was very knowledgeable of the animals and jungle plants. The lunch was a perfect ending to the day.

The whole experience was a delight from beginning to end. Our guide arrived early, and was very knowledgeable and pointed out so many wildlife that we would have walked right past without even noticing. The hanging bridges walk felt immersive, giving us the opportunity to truly experience the jungle. La Fortuna waterfall was stunning and provided a great opportunity to cool off after the hike, with even more opportunity to see wildlife and learn more from our guide. Finally, the included lunch was some of the best and most authentic food we have had in our time in Costa Rica. Truly cannot recommend jacamar tours enough.

Saw a lot of wildlife. The views and scenery were amazing. Jose was an awesome tour guide and provided a lot of information. The lunch was so fresh and delicious and the place was relaxing.

Marco our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly - he really has a passion for nature and that comes out in the tour. Very engaging and went out of his way to find sloths! Would highly recommend.

This was a great tour and the Jacamar guides made it even better. Our guides were fun and super knowledgeable. We were picked up first and had a little time so they took us to a spot by the road where they knew there was a sloth and let us view it. The guides kept us informed of what to do when, made sure we were safe and had what we needed. They really took care of us. The entire experience was fantastic. And yes, it’s 500 steps down and 500 back up from the waterfall. It is worth the effort. The water is wonderful. The guides were very patient and stayed with folks who needed more time to climb. The fruit snacks and breaks are well timed. We opted to do this tour one day and the volcano hike the following day (rather than all in one day) and it was a good choice so we did not overdo it. Thanks!!

What an incredible experience! My husband and I went on this half day adventure and were lucky enough to get Melanie as our guide. She was so professional, knowledgeable and so friendly to talk to. You could tell she truly has a passion for what she does. I am actually writing this review after we've done a few more guided tours, all with great guides, and she remains our favorite. We were picked up bright and early and headed to Mistico park to explore the wildlife and hanging bridges. We saw so many animals throughout our time, including two Blue Jeans frogs that Melanie said were one of our big goals to spot. My husband's favorite animal we saw was a Coati meandering through the forest. After the roughly 3 hour adventure we stopped for some fresh fruit just outside the park. Next we went over to the La Fortuna Waterfall which was absolutely gorgeous. You have to descend ~500 stairs to get to the water, where we got to swim in the waterfall pool as well as a river before then ascending those 500 stairs. It was a little rough, but Melanie was very supportive and patient while I took my time. Afterwards we went to a small restaurant only for Jacamar tours that was absolutely delicious. It was also surrounded by wildlife so it felt like a continuation of our tour, so cool!
Overall would highly recommend the tour and would suggest you request Melanie as your guide! If you get her you are so lucky!!

Our guide on the swinging bridges walk Sshared lots of information about the forest, about trees and plants. I enjoyed that. The stairs down to the waterfalls were long, but very well designed and maintained. The waterfalls was very beautiful. I enjoyed swimming with big fish. The lunch was really good, but we all got really hungry before that meal. How about having the lunch between the bridges walk and the descent to the waterfalls?
