Great e-bike tour lead by our wonderful guide Yuta who guided our group of 7 perfectly through some hidden parts of Kyoto. Yuta provided an entertaining and knowledgeable background to Kyoto (compared to Osaka), and the human side of people, background to Geishas, the Buddhist temples compared to the Shinto shrines, zen temple with background to zen & meditation followed by a tea ceremony. Thank you to Yuta!!

Yuta, our tour guide, was fantastic. Yuta has really good English too as he understands English idioms and sarcasm (I hear Japanese people don't necessarily understand sarcasm the way Americans do). We went to 5-7 places. One of them was a touristy area called kinkakuji temple (golden pavilion), but the rest were off the beaten road. Yuta was very knowledgeable and shared brief yet insightful information about Japanese culture (for example differences between Kyoto and Osaka people as well as learning about geishas).

We stopped at this little cafe for a brief time. We learned they've been open for about 1000 years selling only mochi and tea! The mochi is grilled and is kind of similar to a smores.

The e-bike is not too bad and actually very manageable. Going uphill was done almost effortlessly. As an American, it was a little confusing navigating as the roads are flipped (everyone drives on the left side in Japan). However, Yuta did a great job navigating us. Our group got lost a couple times, and he made sure to get all of us and consistently made sure we were all doing okay. He also made some recommendations after the e-bike tour.

This was our first full day in Kyoto and it was such a treat! Yuta has made our Japan and Kyoto visit an incredibly memorable experience. If you can ask for Yuta, please go for it!

Absolutely excellent tour and guide. We arrived in Kyoto and had booked this tour on the first day and we are so glad we did. Yuta (our guide) was excellent and the tour takes in some of the main sights of the city. The e-bikes were great, easy to operate and allowed some freedom to go to areas we wouldn’t have found. Also it’s a small group so a very personal tour and we learnt so much about Shintoism, Buddhism, Japanese history and Kyoto people. We even enjoyed a moment of meditation before sharing some tea together.

Incredible experience! We did know secret places from Kyoto. The bike trip is very nice, not tired at all and all the sanitariums were amazing. Very complete experience with drinks and local food! It was extraordinary. Highly recommended :)

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip! Yuta was a great guide. He shared so much insider information and was certain that everyone in the group was taken care of. The e-bikes are such a great way to see off the beaten path places that we would otherwise not have seen.
-Thank You Yuta!!

Of all the experiences we have had, this is by far the best, holding 1st place in the list of things to do at least once in Japan. It's not a simple bicycle, it's entering the most rural culture of the population on equal foot. Passing cultivated fields, forests, typical houses, hidden temples and big smiles, there is nothing that doesn't make you say WOW at least 10 times (we counted them).

Tour to do even if you are not very fit, preferably in the morning to catch fewer people in the bamboo forest.

Highly recommended for those who DO NOT want to do touristy things and have a lot of fun, breathing deeply in very clean air.

Great adventure with no crowds. The distances are too long to cover on foot, so biking was a perfect and fun way to see more. Big thanks to our guide Michael, who had interesting stories and shared his energy. He enjoyed this tour, and so did we, that's very important when the guide loves their tour. E-Bikes were very nice and we were provided ponchos because it was raining during the first half of the tour.

Sean was an outstanding guide and every stop was educational and fascinating- riding an e-bike through the neighborhoods of Kyoto was a blast and something we would not have seen on our own.
