Wonderful tour. Very informative. Lats of informaion about how the ocean water is collected (from 2,200 feet; 670.5 meters) and processed. The farm waste nothing, even the by-products and waste are used.
The tour ends with a salt tasting. There were about ten different salts to sample on tomatoes, cucumber, and pineapple. Unfortunately for me, the only one I will eat is pineapple.
An excellent tour that I would highly recommend.

This tour was fascinating and informative and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our tastings of various salts, including the Kona Sea Salt harvested onsite. The visitor center is cheery and modern, and the shop has lots to choose from. The setting is gorgeous, with black lava flow rocks to the ocean. I highly recommend.

I learned so much on this tour! It’s really a science to get good salt. Amazing with the salt tasting at the end and the extra magnesium water. Would definitely recommend! They do a great job.

Don't miss this tour!!!! The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They hold your attention. It was interesting to learn all the steps in producing the different kinds of salt. The salt pairing with the fruit and vegetables was a perfect ending to the tour. It is so nice to bring home many of the salts and other items from the gift shop. Kudos to Hawaiian Salt Farm!

Very interesting tour - I'd previously toured a salt farm in Sicily, so it was interesting comparing the processes & end products of the two. The tour guide was excellent - it's a very small operation so we were privileged to be shown-around by one of the OG's :) Best of all the tour is extremely convenient to do just after arriving at the airport (the next exit down after getting your rent car). I came-home with my favorites along with some magnesium drops... looking forward to beginning to use both (as soon as I unpack)!

Really neat to see the process of salt production. Loved the history of the volcanos too and that they are working towards being totally sustainable. You'll definitely want to buy some salt at the end and I was pleasantly surprised it was super reasonably priced.
