I went to Vienna for a week in early May with my husband but I mostly travelled solo since he was working. This day trip was just as perfect for a solo traveler as it is for anyone else - a punctual pickup and dropoff at the hotel, several stops at quiet, scenic locations for photos, a designated local guide at Hallstatt, timely food/restroom breaks and right amount of free time, just to name a few things I liked. Fernando, the driver/guide for the day, was very kind and helpful - he gave me practical trevelling tips and restaurant recommendations when I asked and they helped a lot for the whole week.

Truly an incredible day! Everything was perfect. The van ride was extremely comfortable and had very fast WiFi. All of the stops along the way were perfectly timed. We had the perfect amount of time to enjoy Hallstatt and returned back to Vienna at 7:30pm. Definitely don’t skip this on your trip to Austria!

Although it was a long journey, the trip was memorable and enjoyable thanks to the members of our tour. We were accompanied by two lovely couples and our main driver and tour guide, Fernando. He was an enthusiastic and entertaining guide who shared funny jokes and stories connected to the places we visited throughout the trip. My highlight of the trip was the Mondsee lake, where the Sound of Music was filmed. It was such a beautiful and peaceful place that I would love to visit again to stay a few more days in the future. In addition to Fernando, Christine was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide who provided us with lots of information about Hallstatt. We were a bit tight on time (as the village was getting crowded) and had to skip lunch to ensure that we visited the Skywalk. I would like to highlight how impressed I was with Christine and Fernando for translating into Spanish for one couple who weren't fluent in English throughout the whole trip.

Our small group was made up of 6 people from 3 different countries. Our guide Fernando speaks 4 languages and was able to smoothly switching between English and Portuguese so the entire group could understand him. Although the tour was over 13 hours long, the itinerary was full of breathtaking attractions and Fernando’s introductions and interesting stories made the tour that much more fun. This has to be one of the best tours that I have ever had.

This was my favorite part of our Austria trip. Though we had some rain at times, we also had sunshine, and the views were impeccable no matter the weather. Our driver, Balazs, was wonderful and provided informational commentary without it being too much. He also was very conscientious of taking breaks and stops as needed. Being picked up and dropped off at the hotel also makes the day a lot less stressful. We really enjoyed this tour and would book something with WAT again!

My husband and I took three day trips with white alligator tour company. Hallstatt, Budapest and Prague . We thoroughly enjoyed all 3 trips-All were long days but well worth it.
Fernando was our driver-tour guide to Hallstatt..We stopped on the way there for breakfast and at two small lake regions to break up the drive. When we arrived in Halstatt we had local resident Regina as a guide . She was great. Lot of history and great picture opportunities. (Personally I would have preferred more time in Hallstatt , the 45 minute stop at Mozarts mother’s village to me was a waste of time, We could have used this time in Hallstatt. ) We took funicular up to the top of the mountain at Halstatt but had to turn right around bc the line was really really long to come back down and we wouldn’t have made it back down in time for the pick up had we walked around up top. Still would give 5/5

The title of the trip is "Hallstatt Trip" but very little Hallstatt on this tour. We got really disappointed since this is quite an expensive tour and you end up wasting so much time on little stops instead of actually going to Hallstatt.
They make you stop for breakfast when you of course already ate, then you visit 2 lakes and one little town with very little to see. You end up only reaching Hallstatt around 1pm, you're already hungry for lunch but you go on a tour guide for 1 hour.
We ended the tour around 2:15pm and they tell you we leave at 4:15pm, so that leaves you 2 free hours in Hallstatt!! You're so hungry by then you waste at least half an hour eating.
We did everything in a rush, we only had time to go up to Skywalk and run back down again.
We felt we payed so much and never got the chance to actually experience such a beautiful town.

Great trip. Long day. Adequate stops along the way at the destination. Drive drove pretty fast but he was trying to keep people engaged. Nice to get out of the bustle of vienna for a day. Small group like this is a must.

The trip was fun and gave you a chance to see more of Austria. The trip duration is also perfect. The van is also nice
