Boom was the best tour guide. She was kind and organized and funny. She went the extra mile getting us on the train to ride in addition to seeing the trains from the market. The floating market was great and she made sure everyone was able to eat and took care of helping with dialogue. Driver ‘Kitty’ was excellent and safe.

We made our own way to the meeting point at River City and were met by friendly staff who allocated us to our minibus and other travellers who we were with for the rest of the trip. Our tour guide, Mr Pin, was sweet and lovely and tried his best to look after us all. He is a softly spoken gentleman so it was occasionally difficult to understand him when competing with the noise of people and trains. The train journey was a little unexpected and it was packed. I’m sure the locals get a little fed up with the tourists but I suppose it comes with the territory. The experience of seeing the salt flats and the market on the way into the station was memorable but the experience of seeing just how close people and train get together was definitely eye opening. There was very little time to wander and shop at the market but it was very busy so I can understand why the tour operators wanted to keep us together.
The floating market was definitely an experience and not necessarily one I would like to repeat. Having seen video of them in the television I was expecting a calm meandering trip through the markets and being able to wander, on water, from merchant to merchant and having the time to support them. Our crazy river ride did not allow for this at all and we came away wondering how we had come away with only a bang and scrap on a knee caused by another boat encroaching on ours. The mix of motor boats and their smelly noisy engines and the gentle use of an expertly manipulated oar gave a stark contrast and I would pick the oar any time.
We did visit on New Years Eve, one of the busiest days of the year I would imagine but I still would have liked a slightly slower and less chaotic pace which would have left a sweeter memory of the floating markets.
We did purchase a photo of us in the boat which was taken on dispatch and ready by the time we returned from our voyage.
Would I recommend this trip, YES, but keep an open mind about how it will go down.
The tour guide and our driver did look after us very well and we would recommend booking with them despite them having to look after over 440 people yesterday.

Transportation is terrible. The last row of vehicles is too narrow. We sat in the last row and the return trip took an hour and a half. Bumpy, unable to sit comfortably. We wanted to get off the bus early halfway, but the tour guide didn't allow it. We are very uncomfortable! Completely lost interest in traveling!

No response to my questions before the trip. Booking was cancelled and couldn't get a refund. Not a good experience at all!

This session took around 6-7 hours where we spent about 3 - 4 hours travelling on a road.

There was a 20 min local train ride which was squeezy and you cannot see much since the train window is not well maintained.

We spent 1/2 hour at the train market. Very little time to experience. The floating market is very commercialised. All we did was to spend half the time smelling the engine oil to sail the boat.

Not very worthwhile , except the group of people I travelled with (coming from different parts of the world and all were cooperative).

Very crowded. Railway market was okay bus not as spectacular as expected. After a view minutes the train past and that was it.

Floating marked was awful. Loud and the engine of the boats smell terrible. Within the small canals you stuck in traffic on your boat. The market shops do sell all the same and are way overpriced.

Would not recommend this trip.

It was a fun trip for us. Our guide, Eddy, was a great host, he was funny, attentive, and gave us clear instructions throughout the tour. The Railway Market was a bit crazy, especially after you get off the train and had to move out of the way when another train is coming. The Floating Market was a great experience. We recommend this tour.

We booked a private tour for a family of 5 and had a terrible experience as our guide added zero value to the trip. She arrived on time, but didn’t know what tour we were going on and was very disorganised . For the entire 6 hours she didn’t share a single fact. She didn’t speak to us at all in the railway market; didn’t know what was going and it was only her second time there. Very disappointed as there was a lot of travelling with three small children and we were hoping the guide could add interest. We basically did the tour with the taxi driver as there was no point in the guide being there.
