1. Pompeii Archaeological Park
You will begin your tour with a warm welcome from your expert guide who will take you directly into the excavations of Pompeii with skip-the-line access! Your guide will take you on a journey through ancient road mapping, residential planning and marvel sewage systems. Being a valuable commercial trade town, your guide will also take you around the “shops” which lined the streets to catch the attention of traveling tradesmen. The walk through these excavation grounds is fascinating, and you are sure to hear stories worth reading up on once you are back home. You will be visiting the Forum of Pompeii, the pulse of the city where residents practiced religious, economic and commercial life. You will pass the ancient basilica of town, a preserved architectural prototype of the Christian basilica for years to come. One of the more interesting walks in Pompeii is the one through residential neighborhoods where you can hear tales of just how the private residents of Pompeii lived… and loved!
2. Parco Acheologico di Ercolano
Just a short 5 miles southeast of Naples lies an ancient town which is known by archaeologists, locals and history lovers, a town whose richness and history is on par with that of Pompeii: Herculaneum. Your guide will accompany you on a quick ride to the this site to begin the second half of your adventure. The town of Herculaneum is often noted as a “better preserved” Pompeii as the volcanic material which covered it helped preserve not only the framework of the homes and buildings, but also the more delicate materials such as wood and other natural substances. This makes for an archaeologist and tourist’s dream! You get to see the very beds and even food remnants left behind from that deadly day. There is no closer look into history than a walk around Herculaneum. Depending on the route for the day, some of the attractions you will see in Herculaneum include the House of Galba, the Thermal Baths and wonderful mosaic floors, the Samnite House and plenty more.

From the moment we met him, Francesco made us feel comfortable. He was incredibly nice and understanding of my parents' needs. Despite the challenging weather conditions with heavy rain, Francesco's professionalism and accommodating nature truly shone through.

Carla was so well informed and pleasant that I would do this again in a heartbeat. Carla customized our trip and answered all of our questions with insight and humor.

Herculaneum and Pompeii together were ideal to see together because they were destroyed in different ways and had unique sights.

our last day in ROme we did a day trip to Pompeii and Naples. Alessandro from LIV met us at the Rome metro station and got us our tickets and to the proper rail siding. I think we were in upper class on the train - really nice ride with some great views of Italy along the route. Carmen met us in Naples and we transferred to a local train to Pompeii. Carmen was great - and we saw a lot of Pompeii on a very nice day. we then went back to Naples to have a seaside pizza lunch and then did some touring around Naples. was great. would recommend - and would do it again given an opportunity.

Francesca, Francy71 was our amazing guide, Vincenzo (driver) and they were wonderful. Tons of knowledge. 4 adults + 4 kids (ages 12 and 15) It was a great experience and we would absolutely recommend her to others visiting these sites.

We had a wonderful tour of Herculaneum and Pompeii. Carla was an absolutely fabulous guide - our 8 and 10 year old boys were fully engaged throughout the 3.5 hour tour despite the heat. Pompeii is more famous, but Herculaneum is the real jewel here and not to be missed!

Great tour, Natalia was very friendly and made it so interesting for us. Our two teenagers were blown away and listened intently for 3 hours which an impressive achievement. We would definitely recommend Liv tours and Natalia to anyone coming to italy
