Visit the enchanting African Penguins at Boulder's Beach and explore the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point nature reserve and on a half-day small group tour from Cape Town in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Cape Town Central
Soon after pick up we will drive along the M5 and connect with the M4 via Muizenberg, St. James and Fish Hoek beaches located along the scenic False Bay coastline on our way to Boulder's Beach Penguins Colony.
2. Muizenberg Beach
Passing through Muizenberg beach we will see the stretch of attractive colourful beach huts in the distance. The beach huts resemble the “bathing machines” of the 1800’s—a cart-like structure that was wheeled down to the water’s edge, allowing the ladies to change into their chin-to-ankle bathing wear and frolic in the shallow waters. The beach huts are subsequently used as change rooms for sunbathers and keen surfers alike.
3. St James Beach
Much like their counterparts, the Beach huts that can be seen here at St. James Beach are also used by sunbathers as change rooms. Your tour guide will stop here for a few minutes to allow for some fun-filled photos with these colourful beach huts before we proceed to Boulder's Beach Penguins colony.
4. Kalk Bay Harbour
We drive past Kalk Bay Harbour which is more like a fishing village, with the fishing boats docking and the fish traders praising their catch. Fresh fish are available for puchase here on a daily basis. The sights, smells and refreshing sea air are nothing less than spectacular.
5. Fish Hoek Beach
We pass through Fish Hoek beach. It is possible to feel the warm Indian ocean waters which flow into the False Bay area making Fish Hoek a preferred beach for swimming and sunbathing on long stretches of warm white sand.
6. Boulders Beach Penguin Colony
We stop at Boulder's Beach to visit the African Penguins colony. Boulder's Beach is one of the best beaches in Cape Town particularly for swimming and sunbathing. It is possible to have close encounters with the African penguins whilst swimming and sunbathing at Boulder's Beach but it is not guaranteed. Therefore, we will take a walk along the boardwalk to the official penguins colony location to see the penguins in their natural habitat. Boulder's penguins colony is home to approximately 3000 African Penguins who spend their days frolicking in the False Bay waters, basking in the sun and parading on the granite Boulders.
7. Cape of Good Hope
After our encounter with the charming African Penguins, we proceed to what is surely the highlight of the day: The Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point Nature Reserve. It is believed that no visit to Cape Town is complete without a photo behind the Cape of Good Hope name board. We will explore the nature reserve whilst the tour guide shares historical stories about the Bartholomew Dias and Vasco Da Gama beacons. The Cape of Good Hope is home to many a fauna and flora such as fynbos (fine bush), over 250 species of birds including ostriches, buck, baboons and the Cape mountain zebra. We advise our guests to please be vigilant and not get too close the the wild animals in the reserve as they can become violent. No close contact or feeding is allowed.
8. Old Cape Point Lighthouse
After exploring the Cape of Good Hope we will drive to the Cape Point where visitors are free to take a short hike up to the Cape Point lighthouse or take the option of the Flying Dutchman Funicular (additional charge at own account). Many believe that the Cape Point is the meeting point of the Two Oceans. However, Cape Point is infact the official meeting point of the Two Ocean Currents: the Cold Benguela and the Warm Agulhas ocean currents. The Cape Point lighthouse is the most powerful on the South African coast.
9. Chapman's Peak Drive
Providing that it is operational, we will take a drive through Chapmans Peak Drive, which is one of the most scenic routes in the world. We will stop for a few minutes at the viewpoint to take some photos.
10. Cape Town Central
Upon our arrival back in Cape Town visitors will be dropped off at the same pick up point where they were collected in the morning.

Our tour guide, Ray, was unbelievable. So friendly and knowledgeable. The drive along the coastline was breathtaking. Seeing the penguins at Boulders Beach was amazing. We also saw baboons and an ostrich with her babies. The stops at the southern points were amazing. We enjoyed being in a small group and chatting with the other visitors to Cape Town. Communication by tour guide prior to the trip was great. Pick up and drop off were timely. We even had a little time to stop for coffee and ice cream on the way back. The half day tour was perfect for us. It was just the most delightful tour and time well spent learning about the area.

Perfect trip to visit the penguins on Boulders Beach and the Cape of Good Hope. The drive there with our Guide Ray was very entertaining and perfect. He gave us lots of interesting information on the way and is very friendly. We can highly recommend the tour and our guide!

The tour itself was fine, once it got going. We were picked up from the ship about 50 minutes late, then went to hotels to pick up 3 more guests, then went back to the ship to pick up 2 guests who were given a time an hour later than ours.

Marshall was absolutely amazing. He ensured we had a great time, was very happy, informative and gracious. I highly recommend him for any tour. If I was staying longer I’d request him for another tour.

Sylvia is personable and knowledgeable, she took time to explain the different highlights along the tour and offered to take pictures. The driver was also quite good, unfortunately I forgot his name.
After the tour, they stopped at a restaurant so we could buy food to eat on the way back. They pick you up and drop you off at your hotel/requested stop.
My only issue with the tour is they didn't communicate to inform me that they were running late to pick me up. Other tours I've done have definitely been more communicative!

Well worth the money. Guide was excellent, friendly and allowed enough time for everyone to spend at each location without it feeling rushed or too short.
From stunning scenery at the Cape to the smiling along at the Penguins, an excellent excursion.

Ray was an amazing guide, he told us what we were seeing throughout the drive and pointed us to the best part of each stop. He even engaged all of the tour group in cultural discussion including his own life experiences. The tour itself was just the right amount of time to see the highlights while still keeping the afternoon free. We had enough time to walk around at each stop but the drive itself was also a great part of the day. Would definitely recommend this to all family and friends visiting Cape Town.

I won’t recommend this tour. I signed up the tour on Wednesday night for Saturday tour. However I didn’t get any confirmation until Friday late night telling me the hotel pick up time is 8am even the listing time is 9am. On Thursday and Friday I tried to contact Viator and Tour company by message by phone to confirm if we need the local cash for entrance fee but didn’t go through. Saturday morning Mike the tour guide/driver picked two of us from same hotel. We thought only two. After 40mins driving left hotel. we were told there was 3rd person in the same area to pick up. Came all the way back and the young girl has been standing outside for more than 1hr to be picked up. The small car is very old with no AC no automatic window switch. We have to leave the window off on the highway while driving because it’s hot which hurt my ears. On on the back seats with the strong wind, you can’t hear what your guide said and his introduction. Stay away from this tour.

Had a great trip with Sylvie and driver. Pick up on time & she was very enthusiastic, Good informative trip with lots of humour, Would have liked a little more than 1/2 hour at Boulders but this half day trip took us into the afternoon as we stopped for food in Simonstown so good value for money, a great way to see the Cape & Boulders in a relaxed way
