We did the Hanging Bridges and La Fortuna waterfall tour which both had spectacular views that were unique in their own right. Roy was super friendly and knowledgeable about the rainforest and local wildlife. He went the extra mile to make sure we saw a ton of sights - from tarantulas to sloths. Lunch at the end of the day was great as well, with a few added bonuses (another sloth and toucans!).

La Fortuna waterfall has a ton of stairs to get up/down but it's worth it. Don't recommend bringing down the injured / kids / elderly though. There was some traffic in hanging bridges but to be expected, it's very family friendly.

We booked the Hanging Bridges+La Fortuna Waterfall+Lunch tour through our hotel who partners with Canoa Aventura. The tour included pickup and drop off at our hotel. Pickup was right on time. There was a total of 10 people on the tour.

Our first stop was Mystico Hanging Bridge park. While heading there, our driver spotted a sloth and stopped so we all could take pictures. Alvarado (aka Kojak) was our tour guide and naturalist expert. He was very welcoming and knowledgeable throughout our tour in the rain forest. He pointed out and shared lots of great facts about the plants, environment and animals. Unfortunately it was raining heavy in the morning so we didn't see too many animals. But both our guides were keeping an eye out and pointed the few we did see. The park is gorgeous and the bridges provided optimal views of the rain forest. It's a must experience! I felt safe on the bridges but they do sway, so just hold onto the railings.

The second stop was La Fortuna Waterfall. We were able to explore on our own and were given about an hour at the park. The 500 steps down and up isn't bad but can be hard if you have bad knees. Going down was fine....it was the 500 steps back up that was more challenging. It's definitely do-able. Just take breaks and enjoy the views while you catch your breathe. The trek down is worth it! The waterfall is AMAZING and mesmerizing when you're at the foot of the fall. You're able to swim at the bottom of the falls too!

Lunch was at Casa Fortuna Restaurante Familiar. There were various options for lunch ranging from traditional Costa Rican Casados, Pastas, Burgers, Sandwiches and it came with dessert! We had the Casados which was amazing!!! Get the Arroz con Leche for your dessert! The restaurant is a large open air restaurant. Very clean, great decor and very friendly staff. Definitely a must to try even without the tour.

In terms of timing, we were picked up at 8:20am and was dropped off at our hotel around 2pmish. Perfect amount of time for us.

Definitely recommend this tour and Canoa Aventura.

We hiked the Arenal volcano which was very fascinating. Our guide, Roy, was knowledgeable and friendly, from Canoa Adventura. Combined this with seeing the La Fortuna waterfall. Beautiful spot. The trip ended with a nice lunch at Casa Fortuna. Overall a great experience.

The hanging bridges are a lovely experience. You are immersed in nature. The waterfall is spectacular. Be prepared to walk down AND up 500 steps. Bring your swimsuit aqua shoes so you can go in the water

Great tour with Grayvin. He was amazing with my family. We had a great time with him and the others tourists. Would recommend these tours because it’s fun and educational. My son loved it very much. We all did. Thanks Grayvin.

We did a combined coffee, chocolate, waterfall tour and had a blast. The tour was so informative and fun and the waterfall was such a fun secondary piece to finish our first day in Costa Rica (although that hike was no joke). Tour guides were helpful every step of the way. To cap it off, we got to enjoy a meal at a local restaurant that was delicious. All the details taken care of.

Jason was our tour guide. He was very helpful showing us what could be seen in the Místico hanging bridges. Honestly I expected to see more so it want as fulfilling. The next stop was La Fortuna and that was incredible. The water was very refreshing and Jason kept watch of all our things. Also Jason kept a nice pace for both events which made it very comfortable.

Our guides were Joseph, Jenny, and Oscar.

We went to the hanging bridges first, and the waterfall - everything looked amazing and was incredibly fun.

Hanging bridges: Great if you’re old(er) or have kids, but if you’re an active couple, we thought it was pretty boring being slowed down with our group. We wouldn’t do this again.

Waterfall: we loved it! Joshua let us go off on our own and adventure out which was great. Recommend grabbing a cocktail at the bar for the walk down, but remember to grab your trash when you’re done. Next time I think we could of done this on our own without a guide.

Our guide Bryan was funny and experienced. Our float trip guide, was also great. Had a lot of experience and we saw many animals.
