The sunrise was just so amazingly beautiful and peaceful. It was cold though so dress warmly. I went solo and it was definitely worth it even getting up at 2am.

This is definitely an experience you DO NOT want to miss! We rented a car for the week, but so glad we didn't choose to do this on our own because we would've missed out on an epic experience. Our guide, Bill, was the BEST and made sure to get us there early to get the best spot. The wind is really strong at the top, Bill knew the only spot to avoid the wind and made sure our group was there to get it. He also helped us all make a Time Lapse video of the sunrise and that is something we will have forever. He was super informative about all things Haleakala and Hawaii, and made the trip more memorable. The views are breathtaking. Dress warm! Some people brought a blanket - wish we would've thought of that. This is a MUST and we highly recommend!

Training their staff to be nice and use logic. We booked through the staff at our hotel and woke up at 2:30 to make it to the 3:30 pick up. The dispatcher and bus driver decided not to let us in with our tickets in hand showing the date and time I was standing with a teenager just in awe on how can this happen and her advice to call costumer service which won’t open till 8AM. Then I got a call from the manager of reservations offering me 50% off for next time I book! He didn’t help get me and my kid get the experience that we didn’t get nor to mention compensating for the frustrating experience we had ! I heard so many awful stories from other visitors in the Hyatt about this company! Don’t book with them, you’ll be disappointed and they won’t care for you
If there’s a zero star I would have given ryan that. They ruined the end of Christians vacation that was amazing. If you books snorkeling book Terlani the staff is awesome -

Sunrise tour was phenomenal! Never seen anything like it. Our group loved the experience, but make sure and bundle up with long pants because it's freezing quite literally! Wind is extremely strong. Views out of this world, would highly recommend

Awesome! The sunrise was like looking at heaven! Total paradise it does not get any better than this. Matt and Chauncey tour guides on the zipline were great! Super fun!

Seeing the sunrise is 100% worth the early-morning start and the 30-degree temperatures. The view is incredible, and watching the sun rise over the crater makes you feel like you are on another planet. It's truly worth seeing!
The zip-lining was a lot of fun, through I expected it to be a little more adventurous. The tour description made me think the zip-lining would be closer to (or over) the crater, but it's a bit of a drive away, over a very mild course. That being said, the zip-line staff made it all worth it, as they were a lot of fun and really friendly. Overall, I would highly recommend!

We did the sunrise tour Monday morning, Kane was our driver. He did an excellent job at telling the history and showing us the sites after the sunrise.

We had the most amazing time on our skyline Sunrise and zip tour! Sam was an amazing driver who made great stops and was very informative throughout the day. And Kaili made the zip tour a blast. He made us feel right at home when we had never zip lined before and we had the best time. Thanks for everything! Will absolutely recommend skyline to all of our friends! Thank you so much Skyline team!

Overall, we had a great tour. Keith, our driver from the central station to the top of the mountain, was very informative and provided a safe and peaceful ride. What's nice is that the company provides gloves and a warm jacket for this tour, so you don't have to lug around these items to Hawaii. Further, we really enjoyed the zip line experience part of the tour - Chauncey and Kevin were hilarious, and as it was my first time zip lining, they really helped me feel at ease and enjoy the experience.
The reason for the 4 ranking vs a 5 was our initial driver in the AM to get to the central station. He was 25 minutes late from the time we were told to be downstairs, and he was extremely rude to a Japanese family in our group who did not speak much English. He often evoked what I considered racist and derogatory comments, which was completely unacceptable.

We did the Haleakala Sunrise and Zip Tour. In tour details, they state "This tour/activity will have a maximum of 12 travelers." When we were picked up at 3:05am on a 26 person mini bus, we were told that we were the ONLY two people being picked up for the Zip Tour portion, everyone else was biking down the mountain. We were driven to the Skyline offices and given coffee, pastries, fruit and Skyline jackets and gloves. The two of us and two other people were put on another 26 person mini bus who drove us up the mountain. By the time we got there, the prime spots at the railings were already claimed. Very windy up there and at that elevation, it is every bit as cold up there as they tell you, dress warmly!! Pitch black, no lighting and lots of people huddled, lots of jagged rocks and uneven ground so be careful. Waited in the mid 30 degree F cold for about 90 minutes. Sunrise was gorgeous and took five minutes. Had to leave IMMEDIATELY afterwards, no time to explore or linger.
Driver dropped the four of us at the zipline place before the rest went biking down. After a *terrific time zip lining (separate review under Skyline EcoAdventures Zipline Tours)* we were given our pre-ordered lunch sandwiches. Waited around about 45 minutes after finishing eating for a mini bus to drive us back to hotel. We were pretty wiped out by then and waiting around doing nothing was annoying.
The activities themselves were great, and the email communication/service was great, but the transportation experience was pretty confusing and frustrating. When they tell you you'll be in a max group of twelve, why wouldn't you bring all of those twelve customers in one vehicle from place to place? It felt jarring at 3:30am to be handed off continually from vehicle to vehicle as if we were an afterthought.
