Guimarães, the birthplace of the nation and a UNESCO World Heritage site, exudes a medieval atmosphere with its 10th-century castle and 15th-century Ducal Palace. A stroll through the heart of the city's streets and squares will immerse you in the palpable charm and rich history of Guimarães. During our visit, we'll explore the imposing castle, admire the majestic Dukes of Bragança Palace, and wander through the historic center.

After a relaxing lunch break included in the tour, we'll continue our journey to Braga, known as the oldest Portuguese city and the religious capital of Portugal. For centuries, Braga has been a prominent archiepiscopal seat and pilgrimage site. Our exploration of Braga will include a visit to its 11th-century Cathedral, followed by a tour of the Bom Jesus Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage site nestled in the scenic hills surrounding the city.

Join us on our small-group tour to discover the most iconic monuments and exclusive spots in these historic cities.

Weather did not cooperate but was a worthwhile trip. The van can accommodate 9 not including the driver. They do fully book all 9 when they can so it can be uncomfortable for some.

We had a great day. Alvaro made the tour engaging and entertaining. We learned tons from him. Guimarães and Braga were super interesting and we are very happy we visited. Don’t miss them if you have the time in Porto.

Very happy with this trip. Well organised, knowledgeable guide (thanks Jose), small group, comfortable minibus. And Braga and Guimares are well worth a day trip.

We had a great trip with Miguel, unfortunately it rained the entire day. Our guide had so much interesting information. The lunch provided was delicious. Kudos Miguel!!

Enjoyed the trip, especially Braga. And especially the amazing Bom Jesus monument. Like the small tour rather than large group. Great tour guide. The reasons for the four not five stars were outside their control. Rain, horrendous slow traffic. Also although the restaurant was nice, the food was quite mediocre.

Great day out, fantastic visits to some lovely areas, our guide Jose was very good. The lunch in Braga was very nice as well. We had some free time in Braga and but only 20 mins in Guimaraes would have been nice to have slightly longer

The history of the place. The pace and places added value to the trip. Loved it. Highly recommend. The guide was on time. Gave us free time to explore. Gardens were beautiful. Lunch was amazing. Cakes were an added touch.

We enjoyed the trip as it was more personalised. Less people is much much better. Though the pick up venue was changed however, it was still close to where we stayed. Viator never failed.

Seeing a different part of the area was good. Enjoyed Guimaraes but Braga was disappointing- not much of the Roman history. Frankly the guide seemed a bit bored. The lunch was also pretty mediocre - a more creative approach would have been appreciated to highlight local cuisine. Efficient organisation but not the best Viatour tour I've done.

Bom Jesus has such beautiful architecture and the music from the chimes lends to the serenity of the place! Highly recommend visiting and making sure you climb the steps from the midpoint to the top to view some of the realistic looking stations of the cross along the way up!
