If you want adventure on quadbikes and a visit to the majestic rock of Guatape, then our Guatape and ATVs Tour is your best option.

We start our day with ATVs and a brief training to understand how these powerful machines work, then we start our ride driving through a forest on gravel roads with one of the most beautiful sceneries you will see.

After 1.5 hours the ATV drive is over, so we change our clothes and get back in the car to continue for our journey to Guatape, but before getting there you have the chance to try some exotic Colombian fruits.

After this brief but delicious stop we visit the magestic big rock and if you decide to climb it you'll see one of the most amazing views.

Finally, we visit the colorful and pictoresque Guatape town and we give you a guided tour in its landmarks as we tell you all the history.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Santuario de maria santificadora y alto de la virgen, guarne antioquia
After picking you up we start heading east of the state. 40 minutes later we arrive into the ATV site, where our team is expecting us with the quadbikes and equipment ready for us. This ride with beautiful scenery and great ATVs will be the best start to this amazing day. The ride lasts 1.5 hours, enough to appreciate the outstanding scenery as well as having a quick adrenaline-rush. First of all, we give you all the instructions on how to properly ride ATVs so we can make it the safest way. Then we provide you with the equipment: A helmet and body protection. Depending on your skills we choose routes that suit better your expectations and experience. After everything is set we're ready to start our ATV tour. We always provide two guides, one in the front to lead and the other in the back following. During the ride there are sections where we can speed up and where we need our skills to go through some natural obstacles. Adrenaline, nature and great pics is all this about.
2. Parque de Marinilla
Colombia is the most diverse country in the world in fruit production as we grow over 430 fruits throughout our territory. This is why we think we should take you to a fruit stand to try some of the most delicious ones. In this short stop, we are going to visit a farmers' market so you can be in a non-touristy place. Once there we provide you different exotic fruits you probably didn’t even know existed, with intense sour or sweet flavors. This is around a 20 minutes stop that is on the way to Guatape but our guests have loved it so far, so we are sure you are going to love it too. It is also a good opportunity to stretch your legs after 1 hour of sitting in the car before we reach the rock, our next stop.
3. Piedra Del Penol
The drive from the fruits to the rock is around 35 minutes but is full of beautiful sceneries of kale plantations, onion, sugar cane, coffee, tomatoes and hundreds of mountains silhouettes. As we drive we start telling you all the history of the rock: components, owners, when was it climbed up and more interesting facts. Once we get there you get the chance to climb up it. It’s 749 steps and 50 minutes approximately to go up and down. Once you reach the top, you can stay up there for as long as you wish as you witness one of the most beautiful views you have ever seen. This is not only our opinion but that of thousands of tourists we have taken there. At the top there are several shops where you can buy water, beer and many other items and sit down to appreciate the view of the lake, tiny islands and country houses. Whenever you feel ready to start going down we'll be ready waiting for you to continue our adventure to one of the most colorful towns in the country: Guatape town.
4. Guatape
The drive to Guatape from the rock is only 10 to 15 minutes. At this town we take a fully narrated walking tour through the town's landmarks such as the church, main square, remembrance street, Zocalos Square and more. Once the walking tour has concluded we take you to the best restaurant in town to have a traditional delicious lunch (not included in the tour) where you have more than 20 different options to try the local cuisine accompanied of a cold sangria or a craft beer. After we finish our lunch and walking tour in this beautiful Guatape town we head back to Medellin in our comfortable private car.

Sarah was our guide she is super funny and knowledgeable and spoke great English. We learned a lot and had a lot of fun. If it was for Sarah it wouldn't be as fun. Sarah is the best in the business it felt like she was the major of guatape everyone knew her. 5 stars

Did this tour with Andres as our tour guide and had a great experience. We comfortably fit 5 people in the car, ATVs were fun as well as exploring the city of Guatapé. We asked to get coffee on the way and Andres took us to a local coffee spot that was amazing. All in all a great tour that I will recommend to my friends who visit

Andres is the best! Had a great time with the ATVs and the landscape was beautiful. Guatapé was a great little town to visit and walk around before sunset. The rock was fun to experience climbing up with a great view. Thanks again Andres!

Had an absolute blast with Laura. First went to ATVs with Sebastian and saw such scenic views while going through the mountain. We then went to a fruit stand and tried maybe 10 fruits I’ve never seen before with a huge variety in flavors (sour to sweet). We made our way to the Rock and had perfect weather and environment for amazing views, then headed to Guatape and visited the beautiful town. Laura was exactly the tour guide we’ve been waiting for in Medellin. Would highly recommend this excursion.

Esteban was our tour guide and he was AWESOME! He explained what we should expect on our drive the ride ATVs. He was very knowledgeable about everything and his English was great. Pickup was on time and he was so kind and helped in taking all of our pictures and helping my older parents get through the day. I 1000% recommend the day trip ATVs to El Penol and Boat ride. The view are spectacular.

What can I say? On top of Guatape being gorgeous, our tour guide Laura was also an absolute gem. Extremely personable and knowledgable, she was a great companion to have as we explored brand new places (a plus for us was that she spoke English since our Spanish isn't amazing).

We were able to try some local fruits, take beautiful photos while riding during a guided ATV tour in Guarne (the guide even filmed us while riding!), climb tirelessly up La Piedra, and got to kickback and relax while enjoying a meal and drink in Guatape + got a tour of Guatape and got to learn some history about the area. We didn't end up going back to Medellin and decided to stay in Guatape, and Laura graciously drove us to our accommodations.

Highly recommend and no regrets!

First of all shout out to dude who runs MedellinDayTrips. He was so easy to book the trip with and very accommodating. They didn't have availability for the Comuna 13 tour and he put me in touch with another company. All around great service from them. I had an absolute blast on the tour. I had Daniel as a tour guide and he was great. He communicated the before and through out the trip very well. I loved that I got picked up right outside of my AirBnb no trying to meet up with some random dude at a bus stop. I had originally booked a paragliding tour as well but Daniel was very understanding in my desire to cancel it. Daniel did a great job as a guide. He had a lot of knowledge about Guatape and shared accordingly. The nice part about the private tour is you get to stay as long or as little as you'd like in one area. The ATV's were amazing, the tour guide asked if I wanted a scenic route or something more extreme. I went with extreme and came out bathed in mud, that was super fun. We were able to rent some jet skis on the lake and getting lost out there was amazing! Stopped at a local bar to enjoy a world cup game. Daniel was super accommodating and flexible. Would recommend MedellinDayTrips they have excelent service.
