Check-in at Reef Fleet Terminal. Check-in commences at 7.15am and ends at 7.45am. The boat, Evolution, will depart at 8am sharp.

After boarding your deluxe boat, your Great Barrier Reef day trip starts with the boat ride from Cairns out to the reef—one of the fastest rides from Cairns.
Depending on the weather and water conditions on the day of your tour, the captain will head to one of 12 exclusive moorings, providing you with the best possible on-the-water experience that day.
Upon arrival at your first reef location, either Saxon or Norman Reef, it’s time to snorkel and dive! Hop in the water with your provided equipment and discover the underwater world full of multicoloured fish, coral, and other marine life. Your guides help you to get fitted with snorkel and scuba diving equipment, and provide instruction and encouragement to beginners and the experienced. Your friendly and knowledgeable crew is always available to help you enjoy your time in the water.

After a morning of water activities, it is time to enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by the crew. Enjoy a BBQ lunch prepared on board with fresh fish, steak, a variety of salads, and prawns. Special dietary requirements can be catered for too including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and vegetarian. Please notify the operator at least 24 hours prior to travel.

At the second reef location, North Hastings Reef, you can snorkel or dive again. If you prefer to stay dry, you can still check out this World Heritage-listed underwater world on a semi-submersible tour with live commentary by our marine biologist (own expense; payable on the day of your tour. Semi-Submersible is operational again from the 19 December) or from above with a 10-minute scenic helicopter ride (additional cost).

On the return trip to Cairns, snack on complimentary afternoon tea and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine to celebrate the end of your day on the sea. Fully licensed bar to purchase additional snacks and drinks!

Check-in is from 7.15am at Reef Fleet Terminal, 1 Spence Street, Cairns. Please make your way to the Down Under Cruise and Dive counter to check-in. Boat departs 8.00am sharp.
All divers are required to complete a Medical Questionnaire. In our commitment to the safety of our guests, divers over 65 years (or 45 years for PADI dive courses) must have a medical clearance with a physician the confirms they are Fit To Dive. This can be provided by your own GP before you leave for your holiday. Please be aware that certain medical conditions (e.g. asthma, heart disease, diabetes) and/or prescription medication may prevent some people from diving.
Children aged and under 12 years (introductory) and 10 years (certified divers) are not permitted to participate in onboard diving activities as per Queensland Australian Law.
Children under the age of 18 must be in the immediate company of a parent or legal guardian.
For Certified Diving, evidence of dive certification is required from all divers wishing to participate in a certified dive.
Diving within 24 hours before your flight is not permitted.
Due to comfort, weight and balance of the aircraft, the weight limit for helicopters is 130kg. Please contact the supplier directly for further information.

We went on this cruise in January 2023. It’s a well-run operation and the guides are very friendly.
What to expect:
Other than the lunch and wine the profile mentions, they provided tea/coffee, and had other beverages and snacks for purchase.
There is a significant indoor area where you can keep belongings without worrying about them getting wet.
They provided wet suits to use when snorkeling but did not provide towels.

This is a well run operation with plenty of staff to make due everyone us safe and comfortable. Although it is a huge vessel, attention is taken to details and safety. We snorkeled and went on two certified dives. Indie was our done master and she was great! Groups are small and there is a small surcharge to be with a guide in the dives, but worth it for safety. A few people were seasick, but the size of this boat reduces the chance of that happening. They offer both free motion sickness tablets and also for a small fee a stronger one, which I recommend. Neither my husband or I got sick, but a few people did. Rain or shine, this is a fun adventure for all ages. Food was fine, and cooked fresh. Bar was open for a fair price, but only if finished diving. ( snorkel okay)

This trip was an absolute blast! Snorkeling at two different stunning places along the reef and good food onboard. The staff was fantastic, very knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely book with this company again.

Great day trip out to the Great Barrier Reef! I rented a camera through them and was able to capture a lot of the amazing fish at the reef. Trip was well organized.

It took us an hour just to get in the water the first snorkel! However, The staff was awesome & friendly! The food was pretty good!

We were impressed by the attention to safety, and the expertise and exuberance of the staff. They accommodated all levels of snorkeler, from newbie to expert. Well worth a day when visiting Queensland.

Great experience for our family .. 4 older children. Friendly and informative, well run, really good lunch, big clean and modern ship. Beautiful reef spots with plenty of wildlife. Comfortable ride there and back but make sure everyone takes seasick tablets!! Did the 1st intro dive and kids did optional 2nd dive.

This entire experience was phenomenal! The crew members were awesome and the views from snorkelling at the coral reef were a once in a lifetime experience. The professional photos were lovely and well worth the money. We did not do any extra activities while on the boat, but if we did this again we would do the guided snorkel. Overall this was a once in a lifetime experience and I’d recommend this to everyone!
