Today is January 1st 2024 . We went on a 2.5-hour trip to Cathedral Cove on the East Coast off the Coromandel peninsula. We were greeted by Caitie the Captain for our trip and Amber the crew member.
These two did a fantastic job of showing us the marine reserve and displayed in depth knowledge of the local geography and the history of the area.
They also defended a special cave where Snapper and blue Mau Mau congregate. Even though this area was not in the Marine reserve it should be, to protect it from Feral fishermen who are to lazy to go out and catch fish honestly rather than poaching the equivalent of a kids petting zoo.
Well done those women. The future of the area is in capable hands. They should be rewarded for there protective actions.

Excellent trip with Mark and Olivia today. They took us to great spots and explained the history and marine life we were seeing. The scenery is stunning. Highly recommend this trip.

It was a very beautiful tour showing the iconic spots in the area. The tour guides were informative, relaxed and accommodating to everyone. Our tour guides Olivia and Ryan were a great combination of humour , information and also great at creating an inclusive and relaxed environment.

Fantastic trip with Brian and Olivia. Very fun, informative and kept our toddlers attention for the whole 2hrs. Would throughly recommend doing this.

Brian and Olivia were great tour guides. I’m not keen on boats but they both made me feel at ease very quickly. The tour was 2 hours long and stopped off at all the important sites. They knew how to attract the fish and I even got into the sea which I never do for a quick swim with a life vest on. Well worth the money for the glass bottom.

We had an amazing time on the boat. It’s been very impressive to see Cathedral cove and also that the boat went into a cave. Some of us went snorkelling which they enjoyed very much.
The crew seemed experienced was very lovely and gave us lots of interesting information.
Highly recommended.

Great family trip, Brian and Olivia made it a special trip, the highlights was seeing multiple fish, a tiny blue penguin and the coves and caves, off course.

Fun on the way, some got splashed, had the whole boat chuckling. Saw dolphins, the cave was very cool. Good to see the kelp growing. Held a kina in my hand that was an interesting experience!. Great guides,
