Captain George and assistant Valentino were absolutely amazing! We had an excellent time. They offered helpful tips, ocean knowledge and beautiful views of the Bahamas. We got to see the dolphins and gorgeous conch shells. The best tour we’ve ever been on! Our kids loved it. Thank you Captain George, Valentino and the entire Bahama Joy Ride team!

We were rescued by Captain George and mate Iverson when our tour on a competitor’s boat had a ladder malfunction stranding two of us big guys in the water. George and Iverson without hesitation took us aboard their boat and treated us like we were their paying guests. As George eloquently said, “We can fight and argue on the shore but at sea we have each other’s backs because if I were in trouble I would want you to help me.” I would recommend them highly.

The crew were enthusiastic but the reef we were taken to was mediocre and so was the marine life we saw. Not a bad experience but definitely not the best. Also, the organization prior to getting on the boat left a lot to be desired.

We didn't have a great experience. First off, the boat wouldn't turn on. We only passed by the dolphins and turtles (which we didn't see). It was a cool day to go into the water for snorkeling, but those that did, didn't see many fish. We didn't see any fish on the glass bottom boat. I had higher expectations and was disappointed we didn't see many animals in their natural habitat.

We had an amazing experience! Our guides were very kind and knowledgeable. The snorkeling was incredible, the best I’ve ever seen! Definitely a 5-star experience I’d recommend to any individuals, couples, or families!

They claim they offer dolphin sighting and swimming with sea turtles. Actually we drove past a dolphin sanctuary and they said see the dolphins are in those pools. Didn't see any. Then we drove around looking for sea turtles. Didn't see any. Then we were supposed to go snorkeling but every time they anchored, the anchor would drag and the boat would get too close to rocks and they would move the boat again. We spent the rest of the time watching one of the boat crew swimming for his supper (looking for lobster). We never even got in the water. Don't waste your time or money.

This negative review is more about Glass Bottom overall than this specific experience. They claim to run a ferry to and from Paradise Island from 9AM to 6PM. We took the ferry to the mainland and arrived at the dock at 4:15PM to return. We found out at 5PM no more ferries were coming that day. We paid for and waited 45 minutes for a trip we were never given.

We were looking forward to this excursion however, the departure information was listed at a hotel which had been closed for a long period of time. It was by chance that we had arrived early and found someone to assist us in finding the departure site which was 10 minutes away. When we asked why the information hadn't been updated the representative who was eating didn't even apologize. The tour guides were pleasant and informative, but snorkeling was a challenge. There were 15 passengers and only the guide had fins. The water was very choppy and it was difficult to move around in the water without fins. We were told the fins were in a larger boat. We would have preferred a more professional experience.

My husband and I both enjoy snorkeling and chose to do this excursion because we were told we would get to see dolphins, turtles and even lobsters. (We had been snorkeling for FREE off the beach in front of our hotel and seeing turtles, sting rays and tonnes of fish so the allure of seeing dolphins and lobsters is what encouraged us to sign up.)
What they don't tell you is that you get to see the dolphins, who are in a cage, from the boat, which remains far away from them! (We didn't get to snorkel in the water near them!)
The snorkeling was in very shallow water where there is some beautiful coral that has now been broken from all the people who step on it. (George and his team made no mention of the importance NOT to step on the coral so basically 3 times a day they take 30 people out there who end up stepping on it and destroying it.) There were very few fish. In addition, coming back there are a lot of sea urchins and I am sure it is just a matter of time before some kid steps on one and injures themselves. (They are lucky no one did!)
We did not see any lobster and did not get to swim near the dolphins or the turtles. It was a total waste of money and time when much BETTER FREE snorkeling can be done right off the beach in front of the hotel!

Boat didn’t show up to meet us. So we got a taxi to drive to the hotel listed and nothing was set up no one was there. Maybe just unlucky but seemed like a scam. Only thing giving it a star was that we got our money back. However we’re out $80 on the taxi and making memories snorkeling.
