1. Fondation Claude Monet
The House and Gardens of Claude Monet in Giverny Pierce the secrets of one of the pillars of Impressionism, Claude Monet. The painter devoted more than forty years of his life to one of his finest masterpieces: his garden in Giverny The Water Garden Wander through the romantic water garden, with its famous Japanese bridge, the wisterias, the water-lilies pond, the weeping willows and irises... Behold this living picture with its profusion of reflected light and colors. The House Visit the master's charming pink house where a family atmosphere reigned. Discover the painter's everyday life surrounded by eight children: the drawing room, the pantry, the bedroom, the study, the dining room and the beautiful kitchen...Admire his collection of Japanese prints, another source of inspiration. The Studio End your visit with the big studio where the famous water-lilies paintings saw the light of day. These paintings are exhibited at the Orangerie Museum in Paris.
2. Giverny
Giverny is a delightful, typical Norman Seine-side village. It lies on the right, or north, bank of Normandy’s mightiest river, close to the town of Vernon. Were it not for the arrival of Impressionist master Claude Monet in 1883, the village might have remained a quiet provincial backwater. The long years Monet spent here would turn it into a place of artistic pilgrimage, even in his lifetime.
3. Palace of Versailles
The Palace of Versailles, or in french "Château de Versailles", is one of the largest castles in the world. A World Heritage listed, the Palace of Versailles is one of the finest achievements of French art in the seventeenth century. The former hunting lodge of Louis XIII was transformed and expanded by his son Louis XIV who installed his court and his government in 1682. Until the French Revolution, kings have succeeded, embellishing each the Castle. This royal jewel is definitely a must-see French landmark. Venture in the Palace, discover its spectacular architecture, and its splendid rooms like the King and Queen’s apartments, many livings room with its stories and the breath taking Mirror Hall design to impress visitors with its three hundred and fifty seven mirrors, its marble and bronze decorations and its gilded bronze sculptures. The visit ends with an introduction to Versailles Gardens. Thanks to skip the line access, the guide invites you to discover the Royal Apartments. Royal Apartments - King and Queen’s Royal Quarters These parade apartments were used to accommodate the official acts of the sovereign. Here were organized evenings under the reign of Louis XIV, several times a week. Overlooking the Midi parterre, the Queen's Grand Apartment is symmetrical to the King's Royal Quarter. The Hall of Mirrors The Hall of Mirrors or Grande Galerie is designed from 1678 by Mansart: a monumental room of 8072 square feet, dedicated to the wealth and know-how of the Kingdom of France. On around 239.5 feet long, the Hall exalts the political, economic and artistic successes of France. The compositions painted by Le Brun illustrate the glorious history of Louis XIV: military victories, diplomatic and kingdom reforms. The 357 mirrors, technological prowess, symbols of great luxury, demonstrated the wealth of France. Its design is a constantly changing show in which the lights and colors of the gardens are reflected. A magical moment. The creation of gardens requires a gigantic work about forty years: leveling spaces, landscaping garden beds, creation of ponds and the Canal. Louis XIV considered gardens as important as the castle. André Le Nôtre created an ultimate French Style garden: a terrace with a global view of the gardens, a geometric organization of the axes, ponds, flowerbeds, groves. The garden is designed like a building, a walk playing on the perspectives. Charles Le Brun drew a large number of statues and fountains. The 221 sculptures make Versailles as the world's largest open-air museum of sculptures. Fountains and groves adorn the gardens. The groves regularly hosted the King's walk and the entertainment of the court. Appreciate a stroll trough the Le Nôtre's gardens. Each summer, Versailles offers superb entertainment in the gardens to give visitors the experience of the magnificence of the celebrations in the garden at the time of Louis XIV. We had a great visit! We started with giverny, and then Versailles. This was the way to go because Monets garden/home is not very big so it gets crowded fast. It was a pretty place especially if you’re into flowers. Versailles was very impressive. You could easily spend more time there but it’s very busy. Our guide was very informative at both locations.

Gardens that are therapy for the eyes! Gilles was the best! -Engaging, and enthusiastically interested in providing the best experience possible. Perfect day, seeing Giverny and Versailles; so different and so gorgeous. Highly recommend.

Merveilleux! Our tour guide, Jean Paul was awesome! He was right on time to pick us up at our hotel. He was so friendly, patient, kind and thoughtful! We enjoyed every minute of the tours. What a beautiful day we had at Monet’s garden and home! JP was so knowledgeable in both arts and history. Dropped us off at a local crepe cafe just before we go into Versailles. The food there was great as well. JP definitely knows the areas. He was very well prepared for our tours with good visual presentation from his tablet and print outs. He got us into the palace without having to wait. There were unbelievable arts to see. JP gave us fantastic information during our walk inside the palace and the magnificent garden! One day is not enough to spend at these two locations. We we’ll definitely be back to explore on our next trip to France. By the way, JP is also a great photographer too 😍👍🏼 Merci beaucoup Jean Paul!

Great tour with JP! He was friendly and very knowledgeable. Day started early but was worth it to just barely miss the crowds in Giverny. Was great to talk to him about all things France and French culture as well. A bit pricey of a day but very worth it

Our tour guide was right on time, picking my mother and I up at our hotel. Gil was very knowledgeable about both sites, and gave us excellent information to understand Claude Monet and his gardens, Louis XIV, and Versailles. My mother has mobility issues and Gil was so accommodating and helpful. This trip was worth every penny!
