Garmisch-Partenkirchen is an amazing place! This merged city sits at the heart of a historical European trade route of the Middle Ages causing an unbelievably unique and blended history. In more modern times, the influence of the Nazi party and the atmosphere of the American occupation in the late ’40s has radically impacted the attitude and culture of this valley paradise. This tour provides fantastic insight into the history, art, architecture, dining, and people of this sublime Alpine city.

What an amazing Day
Jake our Tour Guide was very patient as our train was 2+ hours late due to track issues
He adjusted our tour based on our schedule
We took the tram to the top of the Zugspitze, the weather was not great but we really enjoyed the tour including the Igloo Hotel and Church
Lunch at the Lodge was delicious
Jake knows everyone so we met some really nice and interesting people and saw a few sights other missed
The walking tour was fun and informative. There is more history to this area then we imagined
Jakes stories and adventures added to the local charm
He even took a detour and took us to a sight where my Aunt had work many years ago.
Chocolate shops and butter pretzels rounded out a great day in G-Partenkirchen

The city is beautiful and old. There is a lot of great history! Jim was very kind and funny! We learned a lot and had a lovely afternoon!
