The city of Petra, the capital of the Nabataean Arabs, is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world, It is Located 240 km south of the capital Amman, and 120 km north of the Red Sea town of Aqaba Petra the world wonder is undoubtedly Jordan's most valuable treasure and greatest tourist attraction, and it is visited by tourists from all over the world.
It is not known precisely when Petra was built, but the city began to prosper as the capital of the Nabataean Empire from the 1st century BC, which grew rich through trade in frankincense, myrrh, and spices.
Petra was later annexed to the Roman Empire and continued to thrive until a large earthquake in 363 AD destroyed much of the city in the 4th century AD.

The trip was very beautiful. We stayed at the Ayla Hotel and it was very beautiful. We visited Wadi Rum and Petra with a wonderful transportation service and the workers were nice, respectful and patient with us.

We had a lovely trip to Petra. A comfortable ride from Aqaba to Petra. The car is clean and nice. The driver was very friendly and gave us useful tips and suggestions for our travels in Jordan. Highly recommend.

During my experience visiting one of the seven wonders of the world (Petra), I had a courteous driver who had a lot of information for the tourist and an excellent tour guide who had a high spirit and had the best service in the field of tourism. It was truly one of the most beautiful trips in my life.

This trip was a bad experience, which was surprising given the good reviews.
First issue was taking advantage of naive foreigners: the driver stopped on the way to Petra at a roadside store ostensibly to use the restroom and let us look at gifts at the giftshop. In the end we discovered that the driver was friends with the shop owner, and the shop was selling INCREDIBLY overpriced items (75x the price for the same items we saw later that day in Petra). They absolutely preyed on unknowing foreign travelers. Back underway to Petra, the owner was immediately, keenly interested in knowing how much we spent there.
Second issue: this is supposed to be a 3-hour visit in Petra, sufficient to see the sights. However, we were immediately told that it would take 6 hours to see Petra unless we paid to get driven up to and dropped off at the Monastery (Ad Deir) and that route would take 4 hours. Essentially, we were told there was no way to take a 3 hour trip and that we would have to pay more either way. For this 4 hour version, we were obligated to pay an additional 25 JOD ($35 USD) per person (not per car). This "4 hour" version also required an additional 5 JOD shuttle fare.
This trip ended up costing $85 USD more than advertised for 2 people.
I do NOT recommend this service.
