An 9 hour tour to Aveiro, the portuguese "Venice" and Coimbra, one of the oldest capitals of Portugal.
Starting in Aveiro, a museum city of Art Noveau, birds and salt pans, you will find some of the most beautiful buildings of the country. A tradicional "moliceiro" boat ride along the channels is part of the tour. After tasting the typical regional sweets, have a walk in the centre where we will visit the Cathedral, St Joana museum, and the fish market. You will then have some free time for lunch.
After, we will take you to Coimbra, a city known for being the students city with an astonishing University. Filled with monuments and historical treasures, this city is ready to be discovered by you. Starting with the Cathedral of Coimbra, St.Cruz Church and the Historical City Center. Followed by the University of Coimbra where you can go inside for an optional visit.
You will then be driven to your accommodation back in Oporto.

Our guide Tiago was wonderful. He explained the history and gave us insights about the area in such an easy to digest manner. He also gave us some space on our own to explore Coimbra, which was great. My nephew is autistic but Tiago had the sensitivity to keep him engaged in the tour, and made him feel like part of the group. Coimbra itself is gorgeous and it blows my mind the University still standing since 1290. The Biblioteca Joanina is a must see and its so beautiful. I almost cried. We stop for lunch to have "leitao" and it was delicious. Probably the best meal I had during my 9 night stay in Portugal. It was just simple food done right. Aveiro was very cute and a nice way to finish the day. I definitely recommend this tour

We just had this tour today. It was a beautiful day and our tour guide Alex Vincent was very friendly and professional. Coimbra University library was a must see
and Aveiro cruise was also very nice. With this tour we were able to visit two beautiful places in one day, otherwise we might only be able to visit one place in a day. So I highly recommend this tour!

Make sure that you ask the provider to purchase tickets to visit the University of Coimbra library, chapel and Royal Palace, truly the highlight of this tour for us. My husband rated these sights higher than any other he had seen in our extensive touring in Portugal these past 7 weeks. These tickets are not included in the tour and it is better to reserve beforehand especially for the library. We gladly reimbursed the 11,50 euros ticket (seniors). We also saw students milling around in their school capes and ribbons. Aveiro was pleasant too and very different scenery and a boat ride with good commentary on the natural canals. Alex, our driver and guide was very pleasant and helpful and we had a thrilling ride to and from Porto. He pointed us in the right direction and gave general information, answering all questions but did not tour inside with us. Also no up and down hilly streets on this tour which we appreciated. All in all a great day!

Beautiful day in Coimbra, started by a beautiful cafe and then the shopping area, which was beautiful. Proceeded to the University area to see the library and palace, amust see, very beautiful. Ended our day in the sea town of Aveiro. We had lunch in a great cafe and then did a boat ride along the canal, worth doing. Its a great way to see more of the town. Highly recommend this tour!

We booked this tour but it could not be confirmed because not enough people had signed up for the day we wanted to go. They were very accommodating, rescheduling us a day earlier.
The tour was interesting, particularly the university in Coimbra. Our guide was knowledgeable and very helpful.

Touch Tours provided clear and timely information as well as a very comfortable and spotless Mercedes sedan. They sent us a guide, Antonio Maximo, who was fantastic from start to finish. Antonio was completely fluent in English and in fun and interesting ways shared his extensive knowledge of the history, culture old and new, day-to-day life today. He drove us to Coimbra through torrential rains, had umbrellas for us to use, picked a lovely spot for lunch on the way from Coimbra to Aveiro, and I’m sure I’m forgetting other things that made it a really great day. The Coimbra tour was amazing. The University, chapel, Chem lab building, botanical gardens - they all have to be seen to appreciate their full wonder. Then after a full day Antonio dropped us off at the beach in Porto so we could have time at the Atlantic shore. His directions for using public transit to get back to our hotel when we were finished at the beach made it as easy as can be. We loved the entire day, October 23, 2023.

It was an interesting tour, our guide was good, I enjoyed a day with other couples. A boat tour at Aveiro was a little bored and guide on a boat wasn't good. Other than that, I enjoyed a day. Thank you.
