Hi Everyone, if you are considering a visit to both Sinena and San Gimignano while in Florence check out “Ciao Florence Tours and Travels”. A wonderfully run company with expert staff. We’ve had group tours on our Italy trip, and most are run well, but if you’re looking for quality and quantity consider a private vehicle tour with this company. We met up at our hotel in the morning with our tour leader Cristian. Immediately we noticed his politeness and command of the English language. We weren’t 10 minutes from the hotel when we quickly realized how we’d “hit the jackpot”. Cristian would ask us about our expectations of the tour and then would ask if we’d be interested in making small changes. By small changes I mean taking a slow winding country road versus a busy highway or focusing more on a particular area of the town. Small things like this made for such a wonderful day. What made him so pleasant besides filling you in on culture, architecture and history while driving is that we could talk to him about anything we wished. Kind of like getting your Dad to drive you someplace. He’s a superb tour guide and if you decide to use this company my advice would be to ask for Cristain.

Placido was our driver and he was fantastic. The vehicle was clean and comfortable. Placido knows everyone in the region and he will bring you to the best places, including some hidden gems free from crowds. He’s very professional but incredibly kind and quite entertaining. Great knowledge of the region and its history. This experience was one of the best during our time in Florence. Highly recommended!

Cristian was kind, knowledgeable and patient. He curated a special day for my boyfriend and me throughout Chianti, focusing entirely on the smaller family-owned and operated wineries that aren’t overrun with tourists. We visited 3 different wineries where we met several of the family owners, and had a wonderful lunch at Fattoria Sant’Appiano. In between the wineries, he stopped at a couple of Medieval towns for a quick walk-through. We learned a ton about wine, agriculture, and history. This is very much a create-your-own-adventure package with lots of tips and ideas from a knowledgeable host.

Our favorite part was our guide/driver, Cristian, who was incredibly knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and pleasant generally… he made our day. We loved the wineries as well, but Cristian truly was the highlight.

The best part of our tour was our driver/tour guide Christian! He was very accommodating, friendly and well informed about the area. He made everyone feel comfortable from the beginning and made excision one to remember! The wineries we went to were amazing as well.

Whilst not really a complaint we found the starting point was hard to find with one party delaying departure by 1/2 an hour. The overall day was good and towns/cities well worth seeing although rhe wine tasting was a bit of a joke. We were taken through what appeared to be an industrial estate. When we arrived we were shown into a large room with a very small white wine already poured. There was a small plate with bread, cheese and 2 pieces of salami all small. The bread was stale!! The host was fun but it appeared that he was working off a well worn script. All 3 wines were served in the same glass and it felt that we rushed in and out. It was a long day and would have been better without the wine experience. The guides were all fine.

It all came down to our tour guide, Cristian! My mother, sister and I were wanting to see the Tuscan countryside and experience their local wines on a private tour. The wines, foods, cities and towns with all the beautiful views made the day great, but our tour guide, Cristian, made it special. He was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area and wines as he is an authentic Italian having grown up in Florence. He went out of his way to make our tour special and even helped us plan future trips to other parts of Italy. You can tell he really cares about you and is passionate about his job. Thank you Cristian!

Had the BEST day exploring the wine regions of Tuscany! Our guide Cristian was absolutely delightful and very informative about the history of the region and what to do in each city, etc. He was incredibly helpful and made the day so much fun. Highly highly recommend!

Had a great tour with Christian was open to adapting to meet our needs and was highly informative. Added wine tasting and lunch to our tour to make up for bad experience with accommodations ( not their fault)

I'd like to take this opportunity to express my total satisfaction with our Tuscan Experience. I'm a handicap person, and use an electric scooter to move around. Ciao Florence was very receptive with my needs, offering the best program we could get! We're guided by Mr Tiziano Valleri who was so kind to drive us through the beautiful Tuscany, illustrating every details of the places we visited, with a robust knowledge of history and facts! We had the chance to visit a wonderful family run winery, where we tasted many different Chiantis, olive oils, and truffled olive oil. We're bringing with us some bottles to Brazil! After that, Tiziano drove us to the historic San Gimigniano, an amazingly well conserved medieval city, with centuries of mysteries, historic buildings, and great food! Finally, the unforgettable Siena! Like no other city in Italy, with its well conserved medieval buildings, hills, walls, and gates. And of course, the traditional Palio! I can't thank Mr. Tiziano enough, especially for being so attentive and supportive with all my needs during this enjoyable day! He already new all the wheelchair accessible routs, in details. On our way back to the hotel, Mr. Tiziano even took us to a Fiorentina Fan Shop, where I could get a beautiful "maglia de La Viola", as a fantastic token to remember this amazing day! Tiziano started the day as our guide and driver, and we're certainly bringing back to Brazil, not only great memories, but also a long lasting friendship! Thank you Ciao Florence!
