I was disappointed with this tour. I don't have any photos to post because we spent almost the entire time in the back of a van parked on the side of the street. While we were in the van, the tour guide visited several local food vendors and brought food back to the van. The food was mediocre. The van was cramped so it was not ideal for spending a long period of time. Near the end of the tour, we were taken to an authentic coffee shop where the tour guide left us after a few minutes. Before leaving, I inquired as to whether it was typical for women to visit these types of coffee shops and the tour guide responded no. I was left to wonder why he would then bring our group, consisting of two women, to a place that was not frequented by women.

Great tour guide Bishoo! We got off the plane and didn't want to waste the first evening here as we had a short trip. He Took us to parts of Cairo we would never have explored by ourselves. Tasted some great food - he was very patient and planned the evening perfectly. We had a felucca ride at sunset and tasted koshari. He was keen to give us the best first impression of Cairo

That was perfect start in Cairo to try local oriental Egyptian food with Ahmed and driver isamil. Our kids like Egyptian dessert too , guide spoke with us about life and traditional in Cairo , so happy

Very kind leader. We arrived at first stop for koshary just as noon prayers began so we watched the praying and walked around. Good dish. Then we went to a papyrus shop, chain restaurant then perfumery. Got take out falafel on the way to extremely short felucca ride. An easy introduction for first day in Cairo. Learning was limited. He was a good driver.
I gave suggestions to owner/manager instead of a review until he asked again.

I would recommend this trip to anyone arriving in Cairo. Besho picked us up at the hotel and took us downtown to try some incredible local street food. The tour lasted around 2 hours and we got to try variety of lovely local dishes and had some really interesting conversations. He was very helpful giving us local tips and we will definitely visit the restaurants we tried again before we leave here!

We being from Asia always want to try local delicacies. Booked this local food tour and it was an adventure because you definitely need a local to bring you around. The food are all scattered in Old Cairo and all signages are in Arabic. We had our lovely guide Bisho who has been very accommodating.
Our food journey included:
Stop #1 koushary - this is such a comfort food but filling as well
Stop #2 fruits of meat aka beef intestine stuffed with rice and beef offal
Stop #3 rice pudding
Stop #4 kunafa
Stop #5 falafel and ful sandwiches

Amazing experience! Moaz did such a great job guiding us around town to local spots. We stopped for coffee, koshari, falafel, shawarma and fries, and sugar cane juice. We also did a boat ride on the Nile and Moaz is great at taking photos of us! Highly recommend.
