Link up with your guide in Florence and hop aboard a cushy minivan bound for Volterra. Brace yourself for a guided tour through this hidden gem, sprinkled with mouthwatering pitstops – including a lunch that'll make your taste buds sing in a classic joint. Dive into the local scene with a peek at a Tuscan jewelry store and an Etruscan museum.

After lunch our next stop is in a dreamy winery where you'll taste the local gold: the famous Vernaccia wine!

Next on the agenda is San Gimignano, a city with a backstory as fascinating as its towering skyline. Get a quick lowdown on its history and those iconic towers that seem to touch the sky. But wait, the gelato game is strong here! Swing by a world-champion gelato joint and indulge in the sweet creations of an ice cream maestro. After an informative guided tour, unleash your shopping instincts in the city center's boutiques.

Pro tips:

Dress for comfort and leave the heels at home; cobblestone streets and vineyards aren't fans.

The views were beautiful and the guide was knowledgeable. There were so many added experiences that we didn’t expect. The only drawback is that we had no time at all to really explore either town on our own. We ended up spending less than an hour in San Giamgano. We were fine, but there was a gentleman in our group with a heart condition who could not keep up at all. Anyone with mobility or health challenges should definitely not sign up for this trip as the pace is very fast and the hills are very steep.

Our guide Luciana Gualtierotti was excellent! She is experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly. Lunch, local artists, wine tasting, and more were wonderful. It was a great day! Grazie

This was such an amazing experience! It was jam packed with information and the most beautiful sites. The best part is the tour guide was not just a local but also seemed to know everyone so it felt different from a script based tour. It felt like a friend taking you around to visit her local friends for a behind the scenes peak at these 2 wonderful cities.

There is a ton of walking and it moves quick but it's the only way to see everything these cities have to offer.

Do not book this tour if you want to see anything in either of the towns especially San Gimignano.

This tour was overall extremely disappointing. Everything was very very rushed. There was no time allowed for in San Gimignano despite what is detailed in the tour description. We spent a max 20 minutes there and that was to get the gelato. No free time was given at all. I understand that one member of the group was injured but that should not have detracted from my experience. In Volterra it was a very similar story. We were rushed through the museum and barely had a chance to look at anything. And when I stopped to take a photo it was as if I was inconveniencing the guide. Furthermore the tour guide Luciana was constantly making comments on how we needed to move faster in order to see everything in Volterra which I found very frustrating as I would have much rather done things at a slower pace even if we didn’t get to see everything. To top it off when the tour guide asked if we wanted to stop at a beautiful spot that looks back towards San Gimignano, some members of the group didn’t and some did ( myself included ) however it was decided that we weren’t going. It was very disheartening to have my voice ignored and not considered especially since I paid for this trip just like the other group members. I will not be booking anything in the future with this company. If I could give zero stars I would.

Seeing the beauty of the countryside and lunch
This tour didn’t follow the original description. We only had one wine tasting, no sunset, no jewelry store. Only one very long Museum visit in Volterra and then visit 3 alabaster shops (no time to really shop) Then only spent one hour in San Gimignano - very disappointed - which is the town we really wanted to see. Do not recommend this tour

This is a tour not to be missed. Our tour guide and driver, Luciana, was incredibly knowledgeable, fun, and made this one of our most memorable tours. San Gimignano was lovely and the history was fascinating, however, the Etruscan town of Volterra exceeded expectations and was truly amazing. The winding roads through the mountainous terrain provided spectacular views with endless vineyards and olive groves. The wine tasting at the end of day was perfect.
