We made the mistake of not booking tickets in advance to see the Florence Academia Gallery and of course, it was all booked up when we arrived in Florence. We're so grateful we were able to book via Viator, though, because not only were these tickets skip-the-line (MUCH shorter wait for groups vs. standing in a line for hours), we ALSO had a fantastic tour guide. Martina spoke several languages and was so knowledgeable about art. She would tell us when to take photos and the context behind the different art we saw, which made the whole experience so much more eventful than had we just gone on our own (probably would've just waited in a long line to only take a photo of the status of David). She's a star!

Guide was great but lots of waiting. But seeing the real David was worth it. The guide had lots of great information about the music of the time.

The tour was amazing, first off the meet up point is very easy to get to being located right next to the museum; and if you have any trouble there are dozens of your guides there to assist you.
Due to Covid they have a limited amount of people that they allow inside at once so even with skip the line expect to wait at least 10 minutes in line which is nothing compared to the 8 hour wait in the solo line.
Our tour guide Martina was nice, funny, and very knowledgeable in art history and Florence history. She utilized her time perfectly and was able to guide our group through the entire museum while highlighting important pieces.
There is a decent sized crowd however it isn’t anything overwhelming, overall a great experience would recommend to anyone coming to Florence.

This one had a slight scare early on where there was more people in your then the tickets they had but they scrambled to get more and all got in so it was ok. Once inside our guide told us outside we would end our tour at David and she took us thru the rest of the museum first. I know many including us want to see David and really the sole reason for going. But stick with her plan as everyone else rushes to David during the same time slot and it’s not as crowded by the time you get over there but more importantly she said if she started with David you wouldn’t care about anything else and she goes into massive depth and clearly displays her passion for the masterpiece at the end. Stick with her plan. We had people turning in headphones and going alone to David being impatient. You will waste your money that way as she has so much to tell and show on the masterpiece.

Our Viator tour to the galleria d’accademia was amazing! It was so easy to find the organizer- actually he found us, gave us the microphone device & showed us where to wait. Our tour guide, Martina, was fabulous! She was so interesting, knowledgeable & sweet! We will use Viator again. Go see the statue of David 🤩!!!!!!

Our train was over a hour late coming from Como. I emailed the company & asked for another tour any other day on our trip. He offered one time the following day that we couldn’t make& then ghosted me& our money was wasted. It would be nice if he’d worked w us to find any other tour, to any site while we were in town. Would not use this tour company again. Kindness &customer service matters!
