We had the most amazing knowledgeable guide who made our experience very memorable! Well worth the price to skip the line and have access to the arena floor ! The meeting place was easy to find also.

I took this tour with Daniele V. a few weeks ago, and I'm still thinking about it! He is amazing guide and a true asset. There is an obvious passion for the area and the history. We spent several hours together and I was not ready for it to be over. Daniele V. helped spark my itch to travel more and learn more about the world outside of my home in America. It was truly awesome and I will literally never forget it. Daniele V could see my interest growing through the day and made sure that our group didn't miss any details or important areas. I highly recommend going with him as your tour guide, and definitely do not wait in the admission line to tour this for yourself. The guide can help bypass so many checkpoints and waiting periods--there was many envious visitors that wished they were part of our group. I can't recommend this enough. My only comment would be allowing a stop at the Colosseum book store before leaving for Palatine Hill because they won't let you get back inside. Daniele sparked such a passion for learning that I wish I would have gotten to leave with some books and memorabilia from there. I understand it's very crowded and the tour is timed, but just something to consider. I would love to return one day and seek out Daniele V for any other tours that he is offering. What a great day and great experience.

DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR! First, the good. Our guide, Roberto was excellent. He was very professional, spoke clearly, and answered all questions. Now the bad. They have a complete monopoly on the colosseum tours and are way too big. They require everyone to check in 30 minutes prior to the start time. We showed up almost 40 minutes early, then waiting their line with over 100 people to check in, this took about 45 minutes. After we checked in, we were directed to wait in an area behind the check in for another 25 minutes. We waited for people that showed up 30 minutes after the start time, instead of putting them with a later tour. They were extremely unorganized and took over the entire operation with their business. The entire “skip the line” gimmick is nonsense. We waited in their check in line and then all the other lines too. I completely understand that this is a big city with huge numbers of tourists.FYI, I took a colosseum tour last year and it was fantastic all around. I tried to rebook with that company. Unfortunately, they were not able to run many tours anymore because this company has somehow blocked other companies from getting tickets.

There were some complications and delays before our tour started which was not Crown Tours fault and understood the new management held things up. Our guide did an excellent job describing the ancient history of Roman Forum, Palatine Hill and the Colosseum. Unbelievable that these structures are still remaining after almost 2,000 years. Although very crowded, well worth the tour.

Honestly, it seems very expensive for what it is, 280 euros for 2 adults and 2 children, I don't think it's worth the expense, it can be done perfectly on your own by purchasing tickets at each site. What's more, the queue was slower than the one for tours. I wouldn't repeat I'm sorry,
