Surrounded by Le Martial mountains in Patagonia, Ushuaia offers a glimpse of sea, mountains and forest at the ‘end of the world.’ Aboard your double-decker bus, depart from Maipu Avenue in Ushuaia’s city center, heading toward the Luis Pedro Fique footbridge. Cross a narrow pass that ends at La Mission neighborhood, an area settled by Europeans at the beginning of the 20th century, and drive through districts like Brown and Solier for a glimpse of homes built by Ushuaia’s first immigrants. Hear entertaining onboard commentary about these original Fuegan families – including Bebans, Pastorizas, Cangas, Fiques, Salomons and Ramos – and observe the Patagonian town’s commercial growth since the arrival of new settlers during the 1980s.
2. Paseo del Centenario
Enter the naval base, a restricted area where the first public buildings like the provincial legislature and old government's house were constructed. From Gobernador Paz Street, your coach will drive to Paseo del Centenario, a panoramic point with great photo ops of the mountain chains and islands across the Beagle Channel, which is the jumping off point for Antarctica. Then, head back down to sea level to see the vessel of St Christopher and hear his story from your guide.
3. Glaciar Martial
The Ushuaia coach tour includes a transfer to the base of the chairlift to Martial Glacier, where you can stretch your legs and view the gorgeous landscape.
4. Museo del Fin del Mundo
Located at 173 Maipú Street in the city of Ushuaia, the birth of the End of the World Museum has a profound social and cultural content, based on the search for the roots that represent the past. It has information rooms about the prison and the origins of the city, ethnic groups, ships sunk in the fuegian coasts and gold prospectors in the north of the island, in addition to a sample of most of the species that make up the local avifauna. You can end the tour at this stop.
5. Museo Maritimo & del Presidio de Ushuaia
The building of the old prison of Ushuaia is now part of an important museum complex that contains the Maritime Museum, the Presidio Museum, the Antarctic Museum and the Marine Art Museum. You can end the tour at this stop, where you can take a guided tour to lsiten and learn about this famous prison, how it was made, why did they choose this place and all kind of histories of the once that where sent here.

It was OK...felt like the stop on the hill and stop at Devils pond were unnecessary and unimpressive. There should have def been a stop at the Ushuaia sign. ESPECIALLY since we passed it on the way back towards the end of the tour. Felt like it was overpriced for what it was...should be more like $10...maybe $15.

I would recommend this excursion to a friend, but with a detailed explanation, so they didn’t have false expectations. The folks at the excursion were friendly and accommodating. The “old-school” bus added to the experience. The tour took us to places we wouldn’t have gotten to on our own, but the information and level of detail provided was minimal. It would have been great to get a bit more detail about the things they were pointing out. It would have enhanced the tour a great deal.

I thought the tour was great, I got to see some interesting points, the popular housing, the neighborhoods, the bus stops at some really cool viewing points! The visit is fully explained on the headphones. IT COST !

We were only in Ushuaia for a day and a half, and wanted to make the most of our time. This was definitely my favourite activity during that time. It is a historic double-decker bus which has so much charm as soon as you walk in. service is absolutely exemplary. Starting from where you purchase the tickets, to the actual tour itself, it was amazing. Our bus driver was Javier, and the English speaking tour guide was Thomas. Both Javier and Thomas were so helpful with all of the tourists by taking photos, and making sure that everybody enjoyed the tour. Thomas is incredibly knowledgeable, and was able to share so much information during the tour which we greatly appreciated. Not only is Thomas incredibly intelligent, he is a genuinely kind hearted person who truly wants the best for everyone. He is going to go very far in the tourism industry. He has a perfect personality, as well as the knowledge to provide a great experience for the English speaking tourists… Of which there were many! Javier was always there as well to make sure that the tour around smoothly, and to help whenever it was needed. This is not your regular tour where it is only pre-recorded historical information about the places you see. Thomas was also able to provide a personalized experience by sharing his knowledge as well. The time went by so quickly, and we appreciated that it stops twice for everyone to get out and take photos. it was definitely the highlight of our time in Ushuaia. A big thank you to Thomas and Javier for making the extra special for everyone.

Ushuaia is magical! It's a small southernmost city in the world and it's very navigable by foot. It's clean, safe and a wonderful place to start the journey and embark expedition ship to Antarctica!

Stumbled across the bus tour while we stopped at visitor center for information - right by each other.

It was about 1-1/2 hours, provided some great town history along with a couple stops to get off bus.

It was a great value for only $10USD
