This tour consists of a marvelous throw-back walk around the ancient city of Pompeii, the Roman city that was covered by vulcanic ashes in 79 AD.

We took a tour with Andrea, who was great. Friendly, informative, funny & attentive to the group. Andrea is an archaeologist who has carried out several excavation campaigns in Pompei (and did his thesis on the tiles of Pompei), and other places in the world, and thus has a perfect knowledge of all aspects of Pompei. Thanks thanks. We were a group of a dozen people, and had earpieces to listen to Andrea properly.
Our surprise was that the Pompei site is absolutely gigantic. It is therefore difficult to be able to see everything, even in a week. Having a guide allows you to go directly to the most interesting sites for 2-3 hours, because afterwards your legs (especially if you have children) get tired!

Our tour was originally booked for an earlier day but we had to cancel due to illness. Rebooking was easy and swift, and our tour today round the marvel that is Pompeii was made all the more fascinating by our terrific guide Yolanda. Charming, knowledgeable and excellent at considering the children in the group as well as the adults. The two hours flew past and we would happily recommend Askos Tours and Yolanda in particular as an expert and friendly guide to this one-of-a-kind global treasure, Pompeii.
