WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Miami
After pick up from your hotel in our new and comfortable 15 passenger vans, enjoy the ride out to Everglades National Park. Your guide will be sure to point out the abundant wildlife en route to your first stop!
2. Fort Lauderdale
We pick up in Fort Lauderdale and go directly out to the park. We try to cluster our pickups to limit the time on the van. Your guide will point out the abundant wildlife enroute.
3. Everglades National Park
Go on a 1-hour air boat ride that way out far from land in the River of Grass. This is your chance to see the endangered Everglades snail kite, large and small alligators, and much more; all where it should be experienced, up close and in the wild! Visit a Native tree island village or two where they used to live. You can only get there by boat and on this tour.
4. Miccosukee Indian Village
You will embark on an amazing 1 hour airboat journey way out onto the pristine "River of Grass". We will spend some time in a remote Miccosukee Village and we will also encounter a plethora of wildlife from wading birds to turtles, alligators and more!
5. Oasis Visitor Center
Big alligators live here.
6. Big Cypress National Preserve
Go on a nature walk led by your experienced naturalist in this pristine National Preserve that contains 5 of the 9 ecosystems found in the real Everglades. This beautiful walk will have you immersed in the unique flora and fauna of this region. The chance to go on a second walk in a different location as well. Take a remote scenic narrated drive, with a few stops to get out and experience wildlife, led by your experienced naturalist guide in the remote sections of this vast wilderness; which is home to the Florida panther, black bear, wild boar, Osceola turkey, white-tail deer, Florida bobcat, American alligator, an incredible array of bird species, and more.
7. Smallwood Store
Go back in time in this historic trading post, listed on the National Register of historic places. Learn about the rugged and authentic history of a time when only a few white settlers arrived, to trade with the Seminoles. Still owned by the same family today, ask questions about the lore of Old Florida.
8. Big Cypress Swamp Welcome Center
Great spot to potentially see manatees.
9. Chokoloskee
Enjoy a wonderful lunch. Order off the menu. Great local food with lots of fresh seafood choices as well as vegetarian and vegan options.
10. Southwest Gulf Coast
Enjoy an amazing boat trip through the 10,000 Islands of the Everglades National Park. You will have the potential to see dolphins, manatees, many wading and shore birds, white pelicans, saw fish, sea turtles and more.
11. Everglades City
This small town was recently named one of Smithsonian magazine's top 15 places to see in the United States. We will take a driving tour here in the "Stone Crab Capitol of the Wolrd" When in season we will stop at a local market where fresh off the docks stone crabs can be purchased. Store them in our cooler to be enjoyed later! We will also visit the famous Rod and Gun Club and the quaint musem of the town.

Mike is personable and as he put it “a local guy“. The tour was well organized. I like the different conveyances and experiences that each offered. Hotel pick up was a plus.

We had a great time on the Everglades National Park Biologist Led Adventure! We saw so much! The tour exceeded my expectations. All the stops were very interesting, the boat tours were an absolute thrill, the lunch was delicious. We learned so much about the area and its ecosystem.

My extended family went to Florida for my sister’s 50th birthday. This was one of the activities my sister wanted to do and since it was her birthday we all went along (I don’t think anyone else really wanted to do it). It was the highlight of our 10 day trip. Our guide Ryan picked us up at 7:30 in the morning and kept us enthralled & entertained until he dropped us off about 5:00. Our weather wasn’t great but we didn’t care. We learned all about the history of South Florida, the biology of the Everglades, and so much more. Kids & grownups alike were asking questions and fully engaged the entire trip. I highly recommend this tour & Ryan as a guide!

Excellent day trip included pickup/dropoff at my hotel. Our guide, Lindsey, was very knowledgable about wildlife and the Everglades ecosystem and was good at spotting things even while driving in between stops. We saw tons of alligators, dolphins (including a baby!!), birds of all types including the Roseate Spoonbill, even encountered a 12-foot python that some folks were trying to catch... so very satisfying on the wildlife level. Lindsey made all of us feel at home and I even made a few new friends. Food was excellent, too. Van was on time and never felt hurried or unsafe. If I had to pick a nit here I'd say the language re gratuities is so vague I'm pretty sure I overtipped (never a bad thing people!) pretty much every boat captain and restaurant (and our guide, natch). I guess there's no way to really change that but I'd say I felt a little pressured in that way so if it was somehow included or something... I don't know. Maybe even guidelines? If it was always optional but you posted amounts (I just gave everyone twenties) you might end up with more $$ overall at the end of the thing... just a few thoughts. But this is an EXCELLENT tour and well worth the money! I would recommend to others... and probably will. Well done!

Fabulous day out. Fun filled and educational but in a relaxed way. Guide Mike was great. While day was amazing and memorable. Highly recommend the tour to see and better understand the stunning Everglades.

Picked up from the hotel on time. Ryan, our guide, was excellent and spent time explaining about the history of the Everglades, its ecology and the native tribes which live there. The airboat ride was fantastic, as was the boat trip around 10,000 islands and the nature walk. Everything was so well planned and worked superbly. Snacks were provided throughout the day and also a great lunch stop.
Highly recommend this day trip - its worth every penny

It is all day tour, with 2 boat rides and walk into the national park. Our tour guide Ryan was fantastic, picked us up right on time, texted us the day ahead and provided lots of good information about Everglades, its history, ecology and Indian tribes. We enjoyed the tour. If you have solid day to spend, this is a good tour. Btw, the lunch sandwich was very tasty and well made.
