Essaouira is a real seaside town, with a long beach, fortified port wall, markets, restaurants and more. It's a fairly long drive, but well worth the visit.
The market lanes are wider than in Marrakech and you aren't competing with motorbikes and scooters for the space.
Our favourite part of the day was a visit to the rooftop restaurant at Salut Maroc, overlooking the sea. Great food and decor, and very friendly staff.

Nice day trip from Marrakesh to Essaouira. We were picked up from the hotel with an air-conditioned minibus. The drive was smooth. Our guide Rachid Haziran was very friendly and gave us a lot of useful information. We had 4 hours to explore the city on our own which is was very nice.

Me and my family booked the trip the day before, and they arrived on time and greeyed us with open arms, the driver was called Mouhsin and the guide was called Walid, since the tour was fully booked I had the pleasure to sit up front with the two gentlemen, we were given the plan of action, starting off with a brief stop in a cafe, for a toilet break and a quick snack if you were hungry. The drive was comfortable and being in the front made it great fun as well, later we stopped off in a lovely place where argan oil is made (it is used in cosmetics and things like that.) We got a tour and we got a few samples as well, all very organised. One final stop was a viewpoint just outside essaouira, lovely views. When we arrived we were given around 4 hours to explore the town before returning to the point where we were dropped off. A wonderful place, lovely beach, food and atmosphere. When we returned to the bus, we were greeted with a new years present from Walid, a selection of Moroccan biscuits/sweets. A lovely touch to a five star trip. Walid speaks Spanish, English, French and Arabic to a high standard and this trip comes at a very reasonable price, highly recommended by me!

the tour guide Rachid Haziran and driver Ramanya were so fun! this one was cool! we got dropped off and had free time for 4 hours to do our own thing and shop and visit, eat lunch, etc. i really enjoyed it and it’s a lot more chill then marrakesh. cool vibe

This tour was very well organised. There was nothing we would take out or add.
For the price just matching the price of the return bus ticket from Marrakesh, we got a few nice extras: a great guide Rachid, visiting Women's corporative with a little nice introduction to how the argan oil is produced followed by the tasting of their products.
4 hours we had in Essaouira were just enough to enjoy the views of this old berber city, views of the Atlantic ocean and the taste of freshly grilled fish.

Went to Essioura with Youssef Amazouz as my guide and Youssef as our driver. They were very accommodating. Super helpful and spoke multiple languages. Would reccommend!

The schedule is as per the description - leave at 8 AM, drop back at 7 PM and 3-4 hours at Essaouira. The driver and the guide were both good - 0 points for the van. ridiculously small and super uncomfortable. I was squished between driver and guide, but seats are for really thin people and not even normal adults. If two people are wearing sweaters - you won't fit. These people are certainly skimping on even modest comfort. Oh and do plan to spend - cash possibly at the Argan oil pit stop and Essaouira!

The expedition was great. Khalid and Mourad were super nice and explained to us the history of the town. Khalid speaks english, french, spanish and arabic!
We took short breaks to visit an argan oil cooperative, take picture of the city on top of the hill. Once we arrived the city, we had free time the whole afternoon to visit on our rhythm.
The van was clean, with A/C and wifi. And The team waited for us in front of our hotel and was on time!
Would definitely recommend to friends! :)
