The Frida Kahlo Riviera Maya Museum aims to explore the key events in the life of the artist and undertake with them a series of conceptual approaches, with the aim that the visitor manages to internalize some glimpses of the overwhelming existence of a woman whose mark persists intensely in the social imaginary. All this through an audiovisual and sensitive experience through a guided tour of 45 min. for the life of the Mexican painter.

Interesting information but nothing you couldn't get from a Google search. No guide was included in our entry and there is not a single original painting or artifact anywhere in the museum. If you'd like to know more about FK this is the place for you. If you want to see her art or artifacts from her life, skip it.

Nice information. But the English of the tour guide was almost impossible to understand. He couldn’t make a difference between he and she, so you had to guess 80% of time if he talked about Frida or Diego or her mom or her dad🙈🤣 Otherwise a nice and kind guy.

5 out 5 stars. It was a great experience. Our tour guide was the supervisor and she really knew her stuff. Small museum, but definitely worth the wait especially during día de los muertos. Perfect time to be here!

I cannot recommend this museum enough, it was really wonderful. I initially thought it was a bit pricey, but I didn't realize you would get an entire guided tour! Definitely worth the money! They spoke English well, and were extremely knowledgeable about Frida. They didn't just go through a memorized speech, they really explained everything in detail, were able to answer all my questions, and also made me think on my own. They allowed me to analyze the paintings myself, before I was told what they meant. That was amazing! I also ofc, got all the free time I wanted to peruse myself.
It's true that they don't have any originals, but after the tour, I now know that most of Frida Kahlo's work is in private collections, so it's not like you can see them elsewhere anyway. I also think that it's the story behind her work, and how she got there that's important, not the originality of the art. They do have some of her original writings though, that was amazing to see.
The museum is small, but I was able to spend 1.5 hours there easily, I could've spent more, but you can also breeze through it, if that's more to your taste. They have a small gift shop, and the layout of the museum is extremely, extremely well thought out. I barely knew anything about Frida before I went, and now I know lots! I'm so happy to have gone and recommend it to everybody.

I visited the museum on saturday afternoon, there was no line at all. Very friendly service and a tour guide is included in the entry fee. As a student I got 30% off, which is great. I got a private tour guide without paying an extra fee, because there haven't been many visitors. I really enjoyed this tour, all my questions got answered and the guide was amazing! Muchas gracias for this experience!
