I know that there are now even better observatories in NY but I think this is a classic one and everyone should visit at least once in their life. I loved that there was some history about the building itself as well, not only the observatory.

Booking through viatour made this experience seamless. Tickets were on my cellphone on the app. We skipped the line. No wait to get on the elevators to 86 or 102 floor. We were able to enjoy the experience and not have to worry about wasting time in long queues.

Obviously a must, especially for a first stay in New York.
Emblematic, not to be missed!
Very informative are the exhibition rooms which explain the genesis and construction of the building.
Also worth visiting for the beauty of the brands and the entrance.

Last time in NYC on the day we were planning on visiting the Empire State Building, low clouds hung over the city so we would not have seen anything but cloud if we had gone up. So this time we kept we zipped to the building on the only clear day forcasted. Went right as the sun was setting so we got the sunset and then all the twinkling lights of the nighttime city. What a great experience. The elevator is so smooth and so fast. We choose to only go to the 86th floor...walked all around...it was spectacular from every viewing point. A little crowded, but wait a few minutes and you get right to the edge, admire the view and then move on to another vantage point. A truly fun experience at this iconic building.

Not worth the money to be honest & the lifts were apparently busy mainly for people who were going to the very top floor observation point who paid more for it. ( $100 not worth it ) you should get access to all areas for the standard admission price.!!
So we were told the stairs were quicker to the 86th floor & after an exhausting week this killed us off.(this was at 10pm)
Once outside it was bitterly cold so took our pictures quickly & couldn’t wait to go back down to get out the building.
