There was no view at all. We could not see anything since it started snowing unexpectedly. We checked the weather beforehand and it never even said it’s going to snow. Our entire visit was ruined right away since even staff member said that there is no view at all… we would like to receive a refund asap

What a wonderful activity. I personally love a grand view and while I usually loathe tourist destinations, this cannot be missed. Spectacular view and minimal fuss when we went— right before Christmas! ( I guess everyone was at Rock Center. Whatever, it was great and the King Kong photo opp was so cool. People were nice and took each other’s pictures. Very well organized, timed tickets made the wait painless. As another reviewer pointed out, you take your chances with the weather but so what? Another reason to go back.

Fog meant couldn’t see a thing !
Paid a lot to get to 102nd floor.
Told us as going in no views today - everyone had pre-booked. No compensation or alternative ticket offered and the ‘history’ alone didn’t justify the cost.
Would suggest don’t book in advance, see what the weather is like. If you want the skyline are a lot of options that aren’t so expensive, good availability and quicker !

We had VIP tickets so walked the red carpet and avoided the lines. From the history on how it was built to how it stands today. We had a clear day so had amazing views to Brooklyn, Statue of Liberty and downtown Manhattan.

It was absolutely brilliant but I would recommend going as early as possible in the day we breezed through at the 10am slot but when we were going away at 11:30 the queues were massive

I lived in NYC for over 10 years have visited since then for almost 20 and this was an absolutely highlight. The views are spectacular. It was overwhelming how gorgeous the views are. You can see the whole city. We went at sunset and you see the city go from awake… to bright and glowing.

Wonderful time yet again at ESB. I proposed to my wife in 2013 at the top of the ESB, and every chance we get back to NYC, we visit. We have extremely fond memories of this place, and we had an absolutely beautiful morning at the top again.

We were provided invalid tickets by TripAdvisor’s third party contracted service, Viator. At the location, both myself and the Empire State Building Security staff ( who were great and tried very hard to help us) spoke with Viator who refused to assist or do anything about the invalid tickets. Viator continues to deny us a refund for the money I paid for invalid tickets! The staff at the location immediately asked if we used Viator and said they have a lot of problems with them and they are known there for problems with invalid tickets.
TripAdvisor should be aware of the parties the contract with.
In a negative situation (Viator Customer Service) the Empire State Building Security staff were so friendly and helpful!!

The entrance was hard to find, as not easily sign posted. When we got in the crowds were immense and queues long. ESB ought to have more limits on numbers of people allowed at any one time. People were pushing and shoving and we also had limited view. Nit pleasant
