We did not have a good experience with our guide. The program said we would have headsets but we did not, and it was difficult to hear him. He faced the artwork instead of us, so we had to jockey for space alongside him or turn our backs to the artwork. He was knowledgeable about the pieces he discussed, and that made it passable. He made no attempt to introduce himself or provide any personal connection other than asking where we were from. Disappointing.

The vender never sent me the ticket and did not respond to calls or on-site inquiry…I stood in line and purchased another ticket…I want my money back.

We booked the guided tour of El Prado Museum and it was the best thing we could have done. Our guide, Paula, was amazing! She showed us the works o f art that were important for us to see and had really great information about each of them. Paula was incredibly pleasant and knowledgeable, she added humor to her explanations and even quizzed us on certain things, which kept us all invested. I’d recommended this tour to anyone visiting El Prado.

Diana was an excellent guide who provided us with so much valuable information during our tour. It was very interesting to learn about the different painters’ styles and techniques. In sharing her expertise, Diana showed us aspects of these works of art that we would never have been able to appreciate alone.

Seeing some world famous works. Poor sound via earpiece. Not enough range in volume and every time the tour guide turned her head to the left there was no sound at all. All the other guides i saw actually held mic to their mouth. This rendered the majority of the ‘tour’ experience unenjoyable and frustrating.

We enjoyed our guided tour with Carlos very much.
He was very knowledgeable about the paintings that he showed us, and he was good at answering our questions. He concentrated mostly on Spanish artists but that was okay with us.

Very disappointing first experience with Viator and this tour operator, Naturanda Turismo Ambiental, on our first full day of our first time in Spain. The tour was to be at 1 p.m., but, the day before, the tour operator said the tour had been changed to 5 p.m. We arrived well before 5, but at 5, the guide, Jose Maria, still wasn't there. At 5:05, we called the tour operator and they said they would try to call the guide. Ten minutes later they wrote back that Jose Maria wasn't answering his phone. By 5:45, they reported they still couldn't reach him. We asked if there was another tour they could put us on that day or any way they could get us into the museum that day (the museum was open until 8), but they said there wasn't. And, at the late hour, it wasn't possible for us to get into the museum otherwise. Ultimately, we changed our plans for the next day to take the next day's tour, concerned up until a different guide arrived the next day that that tour might not happen either. [A plus is that the tour guide for the second day was timely and led a good tour.] But, the tour company left us spending most of our first full day in Madrid waiting for a tour that didn't happen that day, and keeping us from otherwise pursuing something different.

The guide was knowledgeable about the paintings he discussed and gave insight that was not available in just the description. However because he had done a tour immediately before at the palace, he was late to the meeting point. There was a mixup with reservations in English, not enough headsets for the group so it
started with much confusion. If I had realized that the tour had 30 people I would not have booked it.

Booked an English tour. We were to meet at 1300. The tour guide got there late. Had no way to know he was actually our tour guide. Had to ask another operator where the English guide was. When the guide showed up the other operator helped our guide get the tickets. There were 6 of us in the group. Finally started 20 min later. Once inside we had no headset and guide had no microphone. All other tours did. This guide could not articulate the words into English. He seemed knowledgeable but had difficulty expressing the words into English. On top of that had to strain to even hear the few words being said. Two people left at the tour shortly after it started Obviously, Viator does not vet the tour guides or it would have been clear this guide would not have passed for an English tour.

Our tour guide was late and then a long time waiting in line for our tickets until she finally excused herself, waiting in the lobby, then getting headsets, etc. I think one guy missed the whole thing bkz his headset didn’t work. The guide just showed us around. She didn’t seem all that interested in the art. I’ve been on tours like this before and when a guide is good I come away having learned something. In her defense it was crowded, but I would not recommend. We got a headset at the Palace (for 5 euro) that was 100% better!
