The tour was two half-day tours so it was hard for a total evaluation when one was much better than the other. The El Escorial tour was fine but the Toledo tour less so. The guide asked us to follow him to the bus and then took off so it took a while to find him. There was no indication on the bus as to which one was ours. The time in Toledo was 30 min which was WAY too little. We were not given maps so had no idea what to do for our 30 min. Too much time was spent in the factory which meant less time in the city. There was no communication with the group when we all returned to the bus, not even a "How was Toledo." It really was a wasted afternoon.

This is two separate tours. Escorial and Valley of the Fallen were great and by itself I would rate it a 5. After we got off the bus, we were told where to get the other bus (which we did not even realize we were back in Madrid except for the double decker tour buses) and this was not where we got on in the morning. Both cities are at least an hour away each from the city.Toledo's first part was basically an hour of shopping in a jewelry factory with a 2 minute demonstration of an older man making the jewely with no explanation. The town itself was nice. However, when we returned to Madrid the bus left us in a section of Madrid we did not know or recognize and the bus driver spoke no English just left us know we needed to get off. Thank heaven for Ubers or we would not have known how to return to our place since we did not speak Spanish. This is the only trip I was ever disappointed that I purchased from Viator.

My husband and I chose to do this full day tour and in hindsight it was not the best way to see all of these sights. In the morning we saw El Escorial and The Valley of the Fallen. Both were great and well worth the visit. We included the optional lunch- a delicious seafood paella. In the afternoon we drove to Toledo. I felt this part of the tour was too rushed. Toledo is very interesting and I would have liked more time there. As it was - the day was very long. I would recommend doing these as separate tours.

I requested English as my Spanish is not that strong. 5 people on this excursion requested English everyone else spoke Spanish. The guide spent most of the time speaking in Spanish. Since we had to wait for the translation, the no English were allowed to walk around and view things while we were being told what we were viewing. We were not given time to look. First tour with VPT Tours and I will NEVER book with them again.

The tours and tour guides were great! The restaurant for lunch was chaos with poor food and we road on a sweltering hot bus back from Toledo. Yikes!
Recommend skipping the factory tour at the end. Instead, shop in the town of Toledo. I wish I had. There were so many great shops.

Tour guides were outstanding. Lunch was mediocre, bus had no air conditioner in the summer, passengers felt like they had heat exhaustion

Diana our guide was very informative, paying attention to details and full of knowedge answering questions and nice. Good communication and clear info at all times. Tour on time and a serious agency. Enjoy this tour!!! Great Bilingual guide

Morning tour was great and our guide was enthusiastic. However, the guide information in English seemed to be an abbreviated version compared to the version in Spanish. The tour of Toledo was in the afternoon. We were very disappointed to learn during the visit that time would not permit a tour of the cathedral! We missed the major attraction!! Not sure why you would offer afternoon tours in the off-season knowing the cathedral closes early. Why did we not tour the cathedral upon arrival when it was still open? Our guide was very friendly, but needless to say we feel that we missed out.Lunch was included in our tour package and we wish it had not been. The restaurant that we were directed to was unappealing. The service was slow and our waiter was unfriendly. The bathrooms were unkept. We would have rather been on our own for lunch. Aside from not being able to tour the cathedral and the choice of restaurant, the day was enjoyable.
