Entrance to the castle is included. Scotland’s second-most-popular tourist attraction as you learn about the bloody history including stories of the kings and queens who lived in this castle.
There is evidence of a fort here for almost 3000 years, and it has been a royal castle since at least King David I’s reign in the 12th century. The Scottish monarchs continued to use it until 1633, and even saw the birth of King James VI within its walls.
Your tour will begin on the esplanade of the castle as you hear your guide talking about the origins of the castle and its sieges.
Once inside Edinburgh Castle, the guide will take you through the different parts of the fortress and tell you its fascinating history, including Scotland’s kings and queens. Inside the complex you will find three museums, two prisons, a canine cemetery, the Chapel of Saint Margaret, the National Monument to the fallen of Scotland, the Great Hall and a Royal Palace. (not accessible during the tour).

Our visit to Edinburgh castle was made even better by our very knowledgable tour guide Niamh. She was great fun and a brilliant story teller of the history associated with the castle. After the tour concluded we were free to roam the inside of the castle buildings. Had a great time.

Definitely a must see location in Edinburgh. Our guide was great. If you can, it’s fun to be there for the 1pm gun. Line for Crown Jewels is about 20 minutes, not sure it’s worth it.

Our guide Ignaus was very very knowledgeable, lovely young man, however, this was way more of a history than I cared for. Like a ton of history, a ton? This is for you! Too much standing in one place for 10-15 minutes while too much detail, for me, was provided. That's just me. It's a very rich and intense history lesson. I prefer to research on my own, read, walk around, take it in. Certainly was able to do this after the formal tour but that was 90 minutes I couldn't get back

Great tour! Booked this last minute when no entry tickets were available for the afternoon I was in Edinburgh. Glad I did because Richard elevated my visit to the castle. He’s very knowledgeable and engaging - highly recommend!

Raz was a fantastic guide. I like how he made the tour interactive by not only giving knowledgeable commentary but also asking questions of the group to help with the topic. Pace was good.

I could not get into the castle as I could not locate my tour guide. I could not use the £35 I spent. I’m 77 years old and was very upset. Terrible experience
