From the churning windmills in the Zaanse Schans to the cheese weighing house in Edam, this tour highlights everything that is typical Dutch. See the beautiful landscapes of the province of North Holland and explore the traditional fishing village of Volendam. Learn about clog making in the wooden shoe shop and try some tasteful cheese in one of the Dutch cheese farms. Zaanse Schans. This outdoor preserved area is situated on the banks of the River Zaan and is home to the original 18th and 19th century architecture, including several still functioning windmills and wooden houses. From there we continue to the beautiful village of Edam, also commonly referred to as the pearl of the former Zuiderzee. Edam’s old streets and quiet canals are lined by beautiful 17th century buildings, including the leaning Carillon tower, the Big Church, and former town hall. Volendam; this typical fishing village with its bustling harbour has been a major tourist attraction since early 1875.

Had an excellent time on this tour with Eva. She is very knowledgeable and really made sure everyone can appreciate the places we visited. It is paced quite quickly but manageable - really good for those who have short time in Amsterdam.

I always wanted to see windmills and this tour was the best. Loved the village and shops especially the wooden shoes. Got a good sense of what life is like outside of Amsterdam witty our visit to Edam and Volendam. Highly recommend

The tour is amazing! The schedule is a bit tight but it is enough and totally worth it. The price is perfect and you can see a lot from it.

Taking a tour bus is an efficient way to get out of the city and see some countryside. That being said, this was a usual trip of this sort in that it focused quite a bit on providing opportunities to spend money at “tourist traps”. Tour leader was good and helpful. I have no complaints about being dropped off at the starting point instead of visiting another part of the city as scheduled. Other might have. Very good, not excellent.

This was a fantastic day out, the travel was comfortable and not too long. The tour guide and driver were both friendly and there always if you needed them. The views we were were incredible, and you saw so kuchen during the trip. The visits to the towns were unforgettable. You get time to go to shops and walk around the windmills which was gorgeous. We went during the heat wave so some places were really busy but with so much to do it didn't effect us getting food or anything. Definitely do this if you're in Amsterdam, it's such a good experience.

Places we visited were great, cheese farm was fun and very yummy. Guide was not the best, kind of crabby. Yelled at me for asking her to speak up. Our group was was well over 30 people and there was no microphone or headsets making it very difficult to hear.
